Reflection
One year ago today I left the corporate world and the biggest CRO worldwide to embark on a new journey. It was not an easy decision to make and one which would show me the industry in a whole new light. The months following this turned out to be some of the most difficult periods of time for the whole world. I certainly did not foresee the long period of restrictions and market hiccups brought by the pandemic.
However, looking back I feel so happy, thankful and proud of what I have achieved. This period of uncertainty, filled with changes around the entire world helped me pause for a little, look inside and around myself, and realize what is truly important to me, personally and professionally. I went through some rough days and weeks and of course sometimes it felt like everything bad was pilling up and coming all at once, as life does sometimes.
Fast forward one year, I have no doubt I made the right decision. It proved, once again that exciting opportunities exist once we have the courage to step outside of our comfort zone.
I know that many people are facing similar challenges right now and perhaps some of you feel the same as I did. Please be bold and have faith. Reach out to your network, speak to people, ask for help and most importantly believe in yourself until you reach your goals and dreams. One day you will look back with pride and satisfaction of what you have went through and how far you have come.
Good luck on your own journey!

3 年I can relate to this Maria as I did the exact same move many years ago. It felt like shedding a layer of skin to discover another, different ME. It takes indeed a lot of courage to step out the comfort zone but I believe it pays out. I encourage everyone to rethink their life every 2-3 years and look at their potential and look for the company that maximize their experience and skills. The only constant is change...
