Reflection
The tree...
...you notice me in spring when I gain my leaves, with each one offering a beauty only visible to the eye of the beholder, although my beauty goes beyond even that.
You see my vibrant colour of many shades. You notice my flower, each flower in its adolescence of the bud, right through its growth as the summer months offer all that is needed for it to reach its full maturity. This flower, although holds all that I am, it is not me. The flower is unto itself, as the ocean is to the shore.
My beauty is clear to see in all splendour the summer months provide, although the time to really see me, is winter. This is the time when I shed my leaves and lay myself bare. No longer protected by my clothes, I reveal to you my deepest layers, you can see my efforts, my age, my journey, and my many perfect imperfections, the imperfections that confirm to thee and thou that I have lived and travelled, not through distance but through time.
And I, with no judgement and whether you love me or not, I am privileged in providing you with the very oxygen that runs through your veins, that of which is the purest of love. And still I ask of you nothing, but offer, through me, an insight of my wisdom, to be gained whilst taking the time to look at me in my entirety. My trunk built strong and bold enough to deny even the greatest of storms so as to protect my many veins known as branches that will soon, and once again be covered. Take this opportunity to witness my time of reflection, as it is surely yours.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
