Reflecting on a Unique Year….

I am sitting here reflecting on what was the most unique year I have ever had.? 2023 brought new beginnings for me. ? After almost 28 years, I decided to close my career chapter with Verizon.? As hard of a decision as it was, it was also a decision whose time had come.? Making a big change is hard, it is supposed to be.? Staying doing what is comfortable is easy. ? I have given myself a lot of praise and grief for making that decision this year. ? I am happy that I am closing out the year being secure in my decisions. ? No regrets, lots of learnings and growth.

I spent the past 6 months reflecting on what I had accomplished and what I wanted the next chapter to look like.? What did I want to carry forward from Chapter 1 and what did I want to be sure I left behind.? I spent more time on the beach this summer than I had my entire life.? It became my sanctuary.? My place to just think, and write! ? I have completed the first solid draft of my book.? I am so proud of the story I have put to paper (digitally ??). Growing up in the corporate world, it was easy to know how you were doing in your life.? You received performance reviews twice a year, you could look at your salary and title to see if you were advancing.? But when I was out of that environment, I needed to think of what OKRs I would now look at to determine if I was living a “successful” life. I prioritized my physical and mental health. This has been an amazing journey and I am so thankful for my husband, friends, and overall support system for being there for me as I questioned literally everything, many things multiple times.

I am so excited to turn the page on 2023 and build 2024 to be EXACTLY what I want it to be.

There is a reason why the windshield on your car is much larger than the rear view mirror. ? What is ahead is so much more important than what is behind you!
