Reflecting on a Successful Conference: Insight Works’ Event Recap

This past September, Insight Works hosted its highly anticipated reseller and end-user conference, TechWorks 2024, in Toronto, Canada, and the results exceeded expectations. The event, which spanned three days of learning, networking, and innovation, brought together our community in a way that genuinely underscored the strength of our partnerships. While we’re thrilled with the turnout and feedback, we’d like to take a moment to humbly reflect on the event’s highlights and the positive momentum it has sparked.

A Warm Welcome: Casual Evening Reception

Kicking off the event, we hosted a casual evening reception at the SoHo Hotel Toronto’s Liberty Room. With its natural light and penthouse terrace offering views of the Toronto skyline, this stunning venue set the perfect tone for our 93 attendees. Conversations flowed effortlessly over canapés like mini meatballs, Angus sliders, and mac & cheese bites. It was a relaxed, informal evening where attendees could connect and unwind before diving into two full days of knowledge-sharing.

A Full House: A Testimony to Community Engagement

We originally planned for 120 attendees but had to cap it at 128 due to space restrictions. We regret not being able to accommodate everyone, particularly those on the standby list, but we’re grateful for the overwhelming interest in the event. Including sponsors and staff, we saw 154 people in attendance, creating a dynamic atmosphere filled with collaboration and learning.

A Day of Insightful Learning and Collaboration

Our main conference began on September 25, with a blend of technical and consulting tracks designed to meet the diverse needs of our attendees. The developers’ track focused on hands-on sessions, offering participants deep insights into extending and customizing?Business Central applications. Attendees explored advanced features of?Warehouse Insight, Dynamic Ship, and the?License Plating?app, learning how to optimize and build powerful solutions for their businesses.

In the consulting track, the focus was on practical implementation strategies for improving operational efficiency. Attendees learned about the full range of?Insight Works apps, including tools to enhance planning, scheduling, and warehouse management. Sessions explored best practices for leveraging these tools to solve real-world business challenges and improve day-to-day operations within?Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

A Home Run Networking Experience

On the evening of September 25, our attendees had the opportunity to experience the excitement of a Toronto Blue Jays vs. Boston Red Sox game from a private suite at Rogers Centre. The view was spectacular, and the evening was filled with lively networking, fantastic ballpark food, and a lot of fun. For the record, the Blue Jays won 6-1—an added bonus to an already fantastic day!

Wrapping Up with More Valuable Sessions

Day two continued with more knowledge-packed sessions, focusing on technical development and consulting strategies. Our sponsor-led presentations also added great value, with partners like?Datalogic?and?Honeywell?sharing key insights on optimizing warehouse operations and selecting the right technology for specific workflows.

The event concluded with an informal “Ask the Experts” session, allowing attendees to engage directly with our technical staff. This format fostered open discussions and provided an opportunity to address specific questions, ensuring everyone left with actionable takeaways.
