Reflecting on a Remarkable First Term Adventure with Gratitude.

As we approach the end of this gruelling but rewarding first term of the 2024/2025 academic year, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we have shared as the Rusinga community. These 15 weeks have been packed with vibrant activities, transformative programmes, and opportunities for growth that have not only impacted our children but also enriched the families we serve.

One cannot overlook the unwavering commitment of our staff, who have gone above and beyond to ensure the success of these programmes. Their enthusiasm and dedication have been evident in their faithful delivery of initiatives, often involving extensive travel to accompany our learners to competitions and events. Whether in the fields of toil or on the podiums of victory, they have been steadfast in their mission to provide the best experiences for our students.

This past weekend, we welcomed back our World Scholar's Cup team from the Tournament of Champions in the United States. These young debaters returned with a wealth of achievements, a rich cultural immersion, and the privilege of visiting three world-class universities. Such experiences go far beyond competition—they inspire dreams and broaden horizons. None of this would have been possible without the tireless effort of our teachers and staff who ensured the success of this remarkable venture.

As we reflect on these achievements, we must also acknowledge the steadfast support of our parents. Your trust in us to nurture and guide your children is a responsibility we hold with the utmost respect and gratitude. Thank you for honouring us with this partnership and for standing with us as we create opportunities for our learners to grow into well-rounded, globally minded individuals in line with Rusinga’s guiding statements.

Now, as we wind down the term, our focus shifts to the Chipkizi Derby in Arusha, Tanzania, where we will conclude the year with a week of Football and Swimming. This final event promises not only competition but also camaraderie and celebration for our young athletes as they showcase their talents and teamwork. It is another testament to the diverse opportunities we strive to provide for our students, cultivating their skills and character through sport and teamwork.
