Reflecting on RDD 2023

Reflecting on RDD 2023

Over a week has passed since the respiratory industry came together at Le Palais de Congrès in Juan les Pins to share knowledge, insights and news of the latest innovations impacting drug delivery to the lungs. Following the carefully curated programme of talks, workshops, poster exhibition and networking events, the level of collaborative enthusiasm surrounding the future of respiratory healthcare was utterly inspiring.?

Both broad yet specific topics were incorporated across the?themed ‘knowledge spaces’:?

Bench to Bedside: New Approaches to Treating Respiratory Diseases?

Aqueous Agenda: Navigating Nasal Vaccines;?

Inspiring Dry Powder Inhalation;?

Advanced Inhalation: Data Driven Design and?

Building a Sustainable Future.?

The combination of interactive workshops, expert lectures and poster exhibition provided a forum for meaningful discussion across the knowledge space themes, all of which sit squarely at the heart of our ethos at Recipe Design. From strategic device innovation; to embracing sustainability and low GWP credentials to fusing data points with design thinking; the tone of RDD was aligned with the spirit of what we strive to provide for our clients here at Recipe.

RDD posses several unique features including the delegate-selected interactive workshops, which gives the conference a level of personalisation like few others. We had the privilege of attending: Koura ’s Dry Powder Dosing of APIs: An Alternative Filling Technique for pMDIs; Aptar Pharma ’s Accelerating And De-risking the Development of Low Global Warming Potential (GWP) pMDIs and Hovione and H&T Presspart ’s?Integrated Development for Capsule-based DPIs - Solving New Challenges.?Sincere thanks to Sheryl Johnson Johnathan Carr Chris Baron Lucas Silva Jay Bhogaita Mirjam Kobler and Jo?o Pereira for their throughly engaging sessions.

Add to all of this the wealth of peer reviewed publications on offer, RDD covers all bases when it comes to where the respiratory industry is at currently and where it can hope to be in the future. By exploring scientific, clinical technological and regulatory insights in equal measure, the event is weighted in a totally balanced manner - making the take outs from RDD meaningful to the people that matter most: patients and HCPs.?

Reflecting on the event over a week on, it’s clear that our approach as a strategic innovation and design agency is aligned with our friends and colleagues in the respiratory industry: data driven design can only succeed in achieving what it needs to by walking hand in hand with patients and HCPs at every step of the design and development process.?
