Reflecting on a productive day in NYC:

• Honored to keynote at the KPMG 2018 Insurance Industry Conference where I spoke about “The Intersection of Innovation, Ventures and Insurance.” So many great takeaways from some of the best minds in insurance and financial services. I’m feeling inspired after great dialogue and great presentations about the challenges and opportunities facing our category.

• Recorded a video for “State of Play with Laura Hay” where we chatted about disruption and innovation in the insurance industry. As KPMG’s Global Insurance Leader, she’s doing some amazing work to highlight trends, solve challenges and make important connections. • Enjoyed catching up with Jenny Rooney at Forbes to chat more about what Nationwide is doing in Innovation and Emerging Businesses. She’s got a great pulse on the rapidly evolving, dynamic marketplace and all-things marketing, so it makes for a great conversation. Looking forward to working with her more this fall at the Forbes CMO Summit and the Forbes Alumni Series at my alma mater, University of South Carolina.

It’s an exciting time to be in the insurance and financial services industry. I knew from a young age that I wanted to pursue a career in this field because I believe in its noble purpose, and having an opportunity to dig deep with experts, colleagues and even competitors during the last 24 hours has validated my decision and energized me. More than 25 years into my career journey, I’m still learning and growing. Where are you in your journey and what has inspired you lately?
