Reflecting on my week

I’ve often spoken about journaling, capturing your thoughts, ideas, and accomplishments. Your hopes, plans, wishes, and dreams. Take time to reflect and ponder. But….I haven’t always done it as regularly as I would have liked to.?
Recently, as I’ve entered the world of the freelancer, I’ve found myself doing it more and more, perhaps as a way to hold the threads of my projects together, or perhaps it’s because I now have the space and time, both physically and mentally.?
And as I reflect on my week, I am amazed at how much has happened in only 7 days! It’s kinda crazy what we can accomplish when we are clear on what we want.
My week started with the fabulous news of becoming an associate coach with Ivy House, and if you take a look at their website you’ll see what an amazing fit this is for me. I get to coach leaders, not only on leadership, but also on who they are as people, their values, hopes, and dreams.?
I’ve also had amazing coaching conversations with Natasha Harris and Helle Browne. There is something magical about focusing on the self, taking time for yourself in order to take time with others. And when you can have fun at the same time as being challenged, questioned, supported, and guided, well this is just a great place to be.?
I’ve also found some new areas of excitement in my work. Although I love being a Coach Supervisor, in the past I had often shied away from supporting other coaches, especially with coach mentoring for the ICF. However, over the last week, I’ve spent time listening to some recordings, reflecting on the core coaching competencies, and have loved sharing these reflections with the coaches who I’m supporting.?

Who knew this would be so much fun! I guess there is learning for me here to take note of ??
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’m also a big lover of food, and this week has not disappointed. There have been some amazing meals and conversations - catching up with a former colleague Osman Sabir, then another former colleague Crystal Small as well as meeting in person for the first time with Ashana Crichton. It’s funny as we’ve known each other for what feels like a lifetime, but meeting new friends during a pandemic is a strange one for sure. Then there are the lunches in Mayfair with Micheal Serwa and the Sunday Roasts with Nathan Blair and my partner in crime Karen.??
All this lovely food and conversation, as well as a few cocktails, reminds me of how important it is to enjoy our lives, spend time with those who are important to us, as well as celebrate our achievements, big and small.
Talking of achievements, I am proud to have my first interview booked for the Fan the Flames Podcast, knowing that once I’ve got the first one under your belt, it’s about doing the next and the next, just keeping on going while holding my bigger vision in mind….exciting times ahead.
And next week begins with some plotting and planning as I develop a series of lectures with a friend for a University coaching programme, as well as planning for a team workshop using nature as the teacher.?
As I reflect upon my week, it reminds me of how many relationships we have, and how it’s important to honour and nurture them, as well as take time for ourselves to allow our ideas to flow, percolate and emerge.??
