Reflecting on My Time in the Student Impact Internship Program.

Reflecting on My Time in the Student Impact Internship Program.

I’m excited to share my experience from the Student Impact Internship Program at Toronto Metropolitan University's Social Ventures Zone , where I had the opportunity to intern with The Green Line , a Toronto-focused news outlet. This journey has been an incredible learning experience, helping me grow personally and professionally.

Throughout the program, I had the chance to participate in various workshops, gaining valuable insights into Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), professional communication, time management, and even how to develop challenge statements effectively. These sessions equipped me with essential skills that I will carry forward in my career.

One of the highlights of my internship was applying my journalistic skills to research and cover stories that matter deeply to the community. It was a rewarding opportunity to use my passion for journalism to make a real impact.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Sarah Brigel , the Operations Coordinator at the Social Ventures Zone, for her immense support throughout the program, and to Mary Cate Faulkner Faulner, Programs and Events Assistant, for all her guidance.

I’m grateful to have been part of this program, and I look forward to applying everything I’ve learned as I continue on my professional journey!
