Reflecting on my Summer Internship at TE Connectivity

Last week, a couple days after I finished my internship, an unsuspecting box came in the mail for me with my name on it. As I opened the box, I saw a note at the very top signed by my manager, wishing me a wonderful school year.

This experience mirrored a lot of what I have come to expect from the culture of TE Connectivity, where I finished my internship last Monday as a Training Analytics Intern.

At the beginning, I was worried since I was the only one in my assigned team that worked on creating reporting analytics using Tableau, but my worries couldn't be farther from the truth!

My manager Jackie Wilson and her team welcomed me with open arms and incredible patience as I navigated my way around using Tableau, something I had never used professionally. After navigating a brief learning curve, I was able to use Tableau and learn all of the intricacies of the reporting platform, even dabbling in some SQL to create more specific measurement metrics. This helped me decrease the burden of reporting for the rest of my team, which decreased the time spent making reports from 2 hours to 5 minutes!

Additionally, Jackie wanted to make my skills available to bigger groups of people and together, we sought out and completed many projects such as creating dashboards for the E-learning courses, creating consultant progress reports through training, and even measuring consultant progress before, during, and after their training was complete, which contributed immense business value.

Throughout my three months at TE Connectivity, I was able to learn through and value many experiences, but the ones that stay dearest to my heart are of all the interactions I had with the wonderful people I worked with.
