Reflecting on this internship, I realize I had a roller coaster of emotions from start to finish, but overall I am thankful to have been a part of such a new rewarding experience. Being part of the first 7 Wellness Coaches at Plymouth State University I learned a lot about myself and about being a part of something new on campus and the difficulties that come along with it. At the start of something new there are always doubts and high hopes to be had. I had doubts that we were not going to get a lot of people to be clients for our pilot project, because at the time we did not have anything to reel them in with like class credits for participating. All we had to give them was that they would learn how to be healthier and therefor become healthier and see results after the 8 weeks. With that we were able to recruit 11 clients that trusted us and were willing to give us chance and for them I am very grateful. I was responsible for 2 of them and I would now consider them my friends. Both of my clients were very determined and dedicated to the process and wanted to make a change. One of my clients lost 30 pounds and the other lost 20. Simply by changing their eating habits properly and working out to create an epic duo. I am proud to say that this program will be returning to PSU in the fall semester of 2019. Students participating as coaches will be getting 2 class credits, and participants will now be getting one class credit for participating. I am very excited for the future of this program and am so lucky to have been a part of it.
