As the month of Ramadan draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey I've had the privilege of experiencing as part of Program Imarah Ramadan (IMRAN) KTHO. From March 4th to March 27th, 2024, our college community came together to celebrate and serve in ways that left a lasting impact on all of us involved. This event is organized by the Spiritual and Human Development Bureau, Student Council of Tun Hussein Onn College (JKM KTHO).
Before starting the journey, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our program advisor, Mohd Fadthul Ikmal Misnal , for his guidance and support throughout this journey. Additionally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all members of the Program Imarah Ramadan committee who contributed tirelessly to the success of this event. Special thanks to all members of the High Committee of Program Imarah Ramadan: Muhammad Hazim Bin Harull Ishaq, the Director of Program Imarah Ramadan; Vanessa Wong Yie Shan , Vice Director 1; Mohammad Hakim Bin Sudri, the Vice Director 2; Syazwan Bin Mustafa, who served as the main Secretary; Aleeya Nasuha Binti Muhamad Nasir, the Treasurer; and Nurul Azwa Binti Kamal, the Vice Treasurer.
The dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work of all of the committee have truly made a difference and have left a lasting impact on making this event a success. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside such incredible individuals.
Some of the sub-program of Program Imarah Ramadan (IMRAN) KTHO was also attended by several invited VIPs that consist including Majlis Felo Merbauan (MAFAN) and the Honorable Principal of Tun Hussein Onn College, Prof. Madya. Dr. Mohd Murtadha Mohamad ???? ?????.
Serving as the Vice Secretary of IMRAN KTHO, I had the honor of overseeing the coordination of this Mega Program, which comprised eight sub-programs aimed at enriching the Ramadan experience for everyone involved.
1. OSCAR KTHO
Date: March 4th - March 25th, 2024 (Online)
In the spirit of Ramadan, where communities come together in unity and support, KTHO is set to host OSCAR KTHO 2024, a program designed to nurture and showcase the acting talents of Generation Z individuals. This initiative not only provides a platform for aspiring actors to explore their skills but also aims to strengthen the bonds and competitive spirit among KTHO residents. Much like the essence of Ramadan, which promotes solidarity and friendly competition in worship and good deeds, OSCAR KTHO 2024 seeks to foster camaraderie and talent development, creating a vibrant and supportive community within KTHO.
2. Khat and Calligraphy (Tamil, Chinese, and Arabic)
Date: March 6th - March 13th, 2024 (Online)
The Khat and Calligraphy competition celebrated the beauty and precision of script writing across different cultural traditions, including Tamil, Chinese, and Arabic scripts. Participants showcased their skills and craftsmanship, promoting an appreciation for the art form and its cultural significance. The program aims to foster unity and create meaningful experiences within the college community, serve as a platform for appreciating wisdom across cultures, and provide students with opportunities to enhance their calligraphy skills in a multicultural context.
3. Fast Challenge
Date: March 17th - March 18th, 2024
The Fast Challenge was more than just a competition; it was an opportunity for participants to push their physical and mental limits while embracing the spirit of fasting. Our goal was to foster a sense of discipline and camaraderie among participants as they embarked on this unique journey. The program aims to provide an opportunity for non-Muslim UTM students to understand and experience fasting firsthand, with the hope that they will gain a deeper understanding of fasting practices. Through this program, it is hoped that harmony can be fostered among various religions and cultures and that tolerance and better understanding can be cultivated among students. The main objectives of the program are to promote understanding of culture and religion among students, as well as to cultivate spiritual and good self-discipline in daily life.
4. Iftar Perdana
Date: March 18th, 2024
The inaugural Iftar Perdana marked the beginning of our Ramadan festivities, bringing together community members to iftar together and foster connections. Our goal was to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone felt valued and appreciated. The program aims to serve as a platform to foster cooperation and togetherness among KTHO residents and JKM KTHO. The objectives of the program include fostering a friendly family atmosphere by encouraging interaction between students and staff, as well as enhancing social relationships within the college community during the breaking-of-fast sessions; showcasing cultural diversity through the shared experience of breaking-fast traditions, and creating dialogue among individuals from various religious backgrounds; and involving college residents in charitable projects during the breaking of fast program, creating opportunities for students to engage in voluntary activities and increasing awareness of social responsibility within the college community.
5. Ramadan Potluck
Date: March 21st, 2024
The Ramadan Potluck celebrated diversity and community, where participants shared homemade dishes from their cultural backgrounds. Our goal was to showcase the richness of our community and strengthen bonds through the shared experience of food. The Ramadan Potluck program aims to foster camaraderie and unity in the blessed atmosphere of the Ramadan month. As a potluck event, it emphasizes the concept of sharing sustenance and love through dishes brought by each participant. The program plays a crucial role in creating strong relationships between fellows and students, instilling deep-seated Islamic values of brotherhood, and providing a platform to strengthen the bond between both parties through shared experiences. The objectives of the program are to create a platform that promotes togetherness and brotherhood among college students, stimulates a harmonious and tolerant atmosphere, and serves as a platform for the unification of the college community, building close relationships between students and college fellows.

6. Tilawah dan Tadarus Al-Quran
Date: March 23rd - March 27th, 2024 (Online)
The Tilawah Al-Quran session provided a space for individuals to engage in the recitation and study of the Quran, fostering a deeper connection to our faith and spirituality. Our goal was to encourage reflection and contemplation during the holy month of Ramadan. This program is based on the noble practice during the month of Ramadan, which is to complete the recitation of the entire Quran. It is the result of a collaboration between JKM KTHO and the Al-Mahabbah Brigade Club, where members of the brigade are selected to be Group Leaders. Each Group Leader is responsible for overseeing the recitation of their group members, whether through online platforms or face-to-face meetings. The objective of this program is to collectively complete the recitation of the Quran during Ramadan, enhance the participants' Quranic recitation skills, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among Muslims in Tun Hussein Onn College.
7. Pertandingan Tulisan Jawi
Date: March 26th, 2024
The Jawi Script Writing competition honored the tradition of Jawi script writing, inviting participants to showcase their proficiency and creativity in this ancient art form. The program will be conducted under the auspices of JKM KTHO to encourage UTM students to cultivate their talent in Jawi writing, as the Jawi script is a symbol of the Malay identity. The program aims to equip UTM students with a clear understanding of Jawi writing. Indirectly, this initiative ensures that the traditional knowledge of Jawi writing is not forgotten by the younger generation. The objectives of the program are to cultivate interest among UTM students in the beauty and intricacy of Jawi script, to deepen their understanding of the importance of Jawi writing, and to raise awareness among UTM students about the nation's commitment and aspirations to develop quality human capital with excellent soft skills.
8. Majlis Penutup IMRAN KTHO dan Majlis Khatam Al-Quran 2024
Date: March 27th, 2024
The closing ceremony was a moment of reflection and celebration, culminating in the recitation of the Quran. Our goal was to honor the culmination of our efforts and to reaffirm our commitment to the values of Ramadan. This program also emphasizes enthusiastic participation and appreciation for college students who have played a key role in the success of the program. Their active contributions not only reflect a collaborative spirit but also serve as the cornerstone of the overall event's success. The ceremony aims to convey special appreciation to them as recognition of their dedication and loyalty in performing worship and Ramadan-related activities. The objectives of the program are to create a platform that promotes camaraderie and ukhuwah among college students, stimulate a harmonious and tolerant atmosphere, serve as a platform for the unification of the college community, build close relationships between students and college fellows, and set objectives to increase participants' understanding and awareness of the greatness of the Quran as a guide to life.
As the Vice Secretary of Program Imarah Ramadan (IMRAN) KTHO, my responsibilities extended to serve as the Secretary for only four vital sub-programs which are The Fast Challenge, The Iftar Perdana, The Ramadan Potluck, and Majlis Penutup IMRAN KTHO and Majlis Khatam Al-Quran.
What struck me the most throughout this experience was the power of community and the spirit of service that permeated every aspect of IMRAN KTHO. Despite the challenges we faced, the dedication and enthusiasm of everyone involved never wavered. It was a true testament to the strength of our collective efforts and the impact we can make when we come together with a shared purpose.
As I look back on this journey, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve alongside such incredible individuals and to contribute to something greater than myself. The lessons I've learned about leadership, teamwork, and community engagement will stay with me long after IMRAN KTHO has ended.
Handling the responsibilities as the secretary for several sub-programs within IMRAN KTHO has equipped me with valuable skills, including:
1. Organization and Coordination
2. Communication
3. Problem-solving
4. Teamwork
5. Attention to Detail
In these roles, I had the opportunity to collaborate with passionate individuals, plan engaging activities, and ensure the smooth execution of our programs. Moving forward, I am committed to further honing these skills and focusing on improving my communication abilities, an area where I recognize there is room for growth.
In closing, my journey with Program Imarah Ramadan (IMRAN) KTHO has been nothing short of transformative. Through the challenges and triumphs, I've grown as a member of my college community. As I look ahead, I am inspired to continue serving with passion, dedication, and a commitment to fostering unity and understanding. I am proud to have been a part of this transformative experience, and I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in whatever opportunities come my way. Together, let's strive to make a positive impact and create a world where everyone feels valued and empowered.
As the remarkable Maya Angelou once said, "I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it." This quote resonates deeply with my personal growth journey, reminding me of the resilience and strength we can find in challenging times. It's time to pen down! Thank you for joining me on this journey.
