Reflecting God's Likeness

Reflecting God's Likeness

We are mirrors of His Light. (Reflections of His Likeness)

Isaiah 60:1-2?New International Version (NIV) says,

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and His glory appears over you.

In a town nestled amidst rolling hills, there lived a man named Samuel. His house, a quaint abode, nestled in a quiet corner, cherished solitude more than sunlight. Within it dwelled a room—a sanctuary of shadows, where the sun's golden touch seldom ventured.

?

Samuel, a man of deep faith, found peace in his solitude. Yet, a yearning stirred within him, an ache to illuminate the dimness that lingered within his dwelling. Seeking guidance, he turned to the ancient scriptures, their words echoing timeless wisdom.

?

As the pages unfurled, he encountered a passage that shimmered with promise, a celestial invitation: "Arise, shine, for your light has come." These words danced before his eyes, kindling a spark within his soul.

?

Contemplating the words, Samuel pondered how to infuse this room with the warmth of radiance. His heart whispered a thought akin to the counsel of wise designers—mirrors! Just as mirrors double the sun's embrace in a dim room, perhaps they could multiply the light of Faith within his abode.

?

He set forth, adorning the walls with mirrors, each strategically placed to catch the sun's soft caress. As dawn's first light spilled through the window, it kissed the mirrors, scattering fragments of light into every crevice, dispelling shadows with gentle luminance.

?

But Samuel perceived a deeper truth woven within the scripture’s ancient fabric. Reflecting on the verse from Matthew, he realized the Divine metaphor held a profound message—a call not just to brighten his home, but to mirror the light of Christ in a world enshrouded in shadows.

?

Thus, Samuel embarked on a journey not merely to illuminate his dwelling but to be a vessel, reflecting the brilliance of Divine love to those cocooned in darkness. In quiet prayer, he sought guidance, beseeching the source of all radiance to help him become a beacon of hope, mirroring the light of Christ's love to a world longing for illumination.

?

He understood: Jesus, the true light, beckoned him to reflect that brilliance. His heart embraced this Divine calling, striving each day to mirror the compassion, kindness, and grace he gleaned from the Light of the world.

?

And in that humble abode, within the chamber once veiled in shadows, a transformation unfurled. The mirrors not only adorned the walls but became symbols—reflecting not just sunlight, but also the immeasurable love and mercy that radiated from a heart illuminated by the Light of Lights.

A Poem: Mirrors Of Light

In the heart of rolling hills, Samuel dwelled,

His quaint abode in solitude did swell.

Sunlight scarce in the room, shadows played,

Yet, a yearning in his soul stayed.

?

A passage from scriptures did beckon clear,

"Arise, shine, for your light is here."

A spark ignited, a quest unfurled,

To chase away shadows, this man of the world.

?

Mirrors, like whispers from wise design,

He placed to catch the sun's soft line.

As dawn's first light began to pour,

Mirrors scattered rays, shadows no more.

?

But deeper truth within those lines,

Called not just to brighten his confines.

To mirror Christ's light, a world in shade,

A journey beyond the room Samuel made.

?

In prayerful moments, seeking grace,

He sought to mirror Christ's loving face.

Reflecting compassion, kindness untold,

To those in darkness, a beacon bold.

?

For Jesus, the Light, the truest flame,

Bid Samuel reflect His name.

In humble mirrors, an epiphany unfurled,

Reflecting love that lit up his world.

?

So in that chamber, once draped in night,

Mirrors gleamed with a holy light.

Not just sunlight, but love's embrace,

From a heart illuminated by heavenly Grace.

?

?I trust this quaint, little story has 'illuminated' your heart and life and encouraged you not to dwell in darkness nor live a life shadowed by fear. Conversely, that you would let your 'light' shine before men that they might see your good works and glorify God.
