??? Reflecting on a Feline's Wisdom in Translation ???

Have you ever pondered the philosophy of a cat? I must confess, the thought had never crossed my mind - as a self-proclaimed dog person, my affinities lie elsewhere. However, my latest project has offered me a unique window into the world of cat enthusiasts and, unexpectedly, a touch of empathy for our feline friends.

I had the pleasure of working on the translations for a bilingual photo book that delves into the life and musings of a cat named Diamond. The book, titled "Mon Diamond: A Cat's Philosophy on Living a Beautiful Life" (and featured in Aera Style Magazine) has been an eye-opening experience. It's not every day that my translation work intersects with such charming subject matter.

Admittedly, translation jobs can be less than thrilling at times, but it's projects like these that bring a sparkle of diversity and joy to my profession. And there's a special kind of pride that comes with seeing my name in print, even if it's tucked away in the back matter.

This project was a gentle reminder that animals, regardless of species, have much to teach us about living beautifully. I'm grateful for the opportunity to bridge languages and share Diamond's wisdom with a broader audience.
