Reflecting on Choices, Growth, and Gratitude

Reflecting on Choices, Growth, and Gratitude

Today, as I reflect on my journey, I am proud of the choices I’ve made and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.

I graduated from Monash University in 2021, the same institution recently visited by India’s Education Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan. Despite having the opportunity to work in Australia by applying for a Temporary Resident Visa, I chose to return to India—my karma bhoomi. This decision was deeply inspired by my father's teachings on responsibility and purpose, which have always guided me.

At just 24, I was fortunate to step into a top-level management role. This position provided me with invaluable exposure, real-world challenges, and insights that have significantly shaped my perspective. It was a humbling experience that taught me the importance of leadership, decision-making, and continuous growth. I aspire to create a positive impact on others’ lives by leading with integrity and setting an example.

At the time, I wasn’t familiar with concepts like linear programming or constraint optimization, nor was I aware of the nuances of emotional stability and fallacies. Yet, life’s responsibilities shaped my decisions, and I stand by them.

Over the past few months at IIM Indore, I’ve immersed myself in learning and self-discovery. Born a woman and raised with confidence, values, and foresight, I’ve realized how deeply my roots in Indian culture continue to shape me, even after studying abroad.

This journey has also been an opportunity to identify my strengths and areas for growth. I’ve developed strong analytical skills, a keen understanding of finance and marketing, and an ability to navigate complex situations. At the same time, I’ve recognized the need to enhance my social skills and expand my comfort zone.

Every step of this journey reinforces my belief that growth comes from embracing change and staying true to one’s values.

Here’s to continuous learning, making purposeful choices, and building a future rooted in gratitude and growth. I hope to grow and be the part of community, learn, unlearn and relearn, adapt and be flexible, breaking the myths and hustling to create a difference. To showcase that I can face the world, ultimately making my parents proud.
