Reflecting on 25 Years with Long View: A Journey Beyond Expectations
Last week Long View had some amazing celebrations for our 25th anniversary.? As I pause to reflect on this incredible 25-year journey, I’m amazed at how far we’ve come. When I first joined, 24ish years ago, there were only 10 of us, meeting around one table every Wednesday. Today, we’re a team of over 1,300 strong, spanning across North America.
I remember saying back then, "If we ever hit 100 people, we’re going to rule the world." Dan Sottile chuckled and told me I was thinking too small. He was right. The growth we’ve experienced has been nothing short of extraordinary, truly beyond anything I could have imagined. But while the numbers are impressive, it’s the people who have made this ride so remarkable.
Over these years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside people whose talents and abilities are mind blowing. What’s always stood out to me is their commitment—not just to personal success but to the success of the entire team. It brings to mind the saying: You win when you care more about the name on the front of the jersey than the one on the back.
I remember during my MBA, sharing our story of growth with my classmates. The question I often got was, "What’s the secret?" The truth is there is no secret. It’s simple but very hard to execute well: get great people on the team and take care of them and the rest will follow. When we’ve done that, growth has followed. When we’ve stumbled, it’s usually been because we lost sight of this, and we’ve had to refocus. By taking care of our people, we’ve also attracted incredible clients who share our values. These clients have been true partners, ensuring success not just for themselves but for everyone in their ecosystem. This alignment has been key to building the lasting partnerships we’ve enjoyed over the years.

When I’m asked what I’m most proud of, it’s that we’ve kept our soul. We’ve stayed true to our core values—caring deeply about our people, our clients, and the excellence we pursue. We have been far from perfect, but we’ve always realigned ourselves with that North Star: a culture built on care, caring for people, and caring for excellence. Holding ourselves accountable to the pursuit of that standard and learning when falling short of it.
On this key milestone there are so many people I think about and so many people to thank but I do want to shout out a special group, there was a bunch of us that were young leaders, learning and growing together.? Super passionate about what Long View could become. Tasha Engel Jeff Mathews Chris Williams Tammy Ward Philip Edgell Craig Cook , Matt Noel-Bentley Claire Fern Sean Modi Patty Bourgeois Robin Bell 25 years latter seeing us all grown up. I hope you have a great reflection on this moment.? I think we all would agree what has been achieved in 25 years is far beyond our wildest dreams.
The journey is to create a 100-year company, and 100 year starts today.? This last 25 years has been incredible to see, and now it’s time to get after the next 25. Let’s go blow away our wildest dreams again!

3 周I spent 16.5 years at this company, and I want to expresses deep gratitude, to Don and the entire team as embodying a true family spirit. Unlike many companies that claim to be family-oriented, this company genuinely supports employees through personal and professional challenges. They demonstrate care by organizing fundraisers for health issues, offering extra time off for family losses, providing meals during illness, covering medical bills, and more. I have never experienced such a caring work environment and thank Long View from the bottom of my heart. Never give up your secret sauce Long View. 4o
