Reflecting on 2024 so far: New Releases, Success Stories and Industry Leadership

As we enter the last quarter of 2024, it’s clear that this is the year of growth, innovation and customer success for Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division. With exciting new releases and successful technology implementations, we are pushing the boundaries of possibilities to help our customers across industries achieve more.??

Introducing PV Elite? 26: Revolutionizing Pressure Vessel Design??

One of the highlights of 2024 was the release of PV Elite 26, which was a significant advancement in pressure vessel analysis. Introducing the AD2000 code in this latest version ensures that our solutions meet German code standards, where AD2000 remains a key requirement. This feature, along with other critical upgrades, ensures that our software remains the most reliable and user-friendly tool for engineers worldwide.??

Additionally, in the first half of this year, we hosted a series of webinars designed to enlighten the users and share with them the best practices to utilize the capabilities of PV Elite to the maximum. Our experts have trained the participants to get through the methods, workflows, and best practices of PV Elite.?

These strategies enabled the simple application for the proper and exact formation of both vertical and horizontal vessel models thereby making sure the European standard EN 13445 for 'Unfired Pressure Vessels' is followed.?

For those who missed out, the on-demand webinars are available here: PV Elite Webinar Series.??

TANK’s New Capabilities: EN 14015 and Beyond??

Another key development has been the addition of the EN-14015 code for low-pressure and atmospheric tanks in our TANK? software. This enhancement is intended to provide improved compliance for tank design and installation industries, particularly in regions with specific regulatory requirements. These advancements simplify tank analysis and ensure that calculations and designs meet the highest standards.???

A Success Story Powered by Innovation??

In addition to the new releases, one of our success stories comes from Montuotojas, a leading engineering company in the Baltic region. With over 60 years of expertise, Montuotojas faced the challenge of unifying tank design software to meet the diverse needs of its stakeholders. TANK and PV Elite provided the comprehensive design, analysis and compliance capabilities that the customer required.??

In a recent large-scale oil and gas project, Montuotojas leveraged TANK's capabilities, reducing calculation time from a week to just four hours. The API 650 functionality enabled it to comply with strict standards, ensuring the project was completed efficiently and to the highest quality. Montuotojas adaptability and Hexagon’s technology have streamlined processes, proving how the right tools can drive operational excellence across even the most complex projects.??

A Glimpse into the Future??

As 2025 approaches, we strive to further the digital transformation journey for our customers. We will continue to drive innovation and empower industries with intelligent solutions to improve productivity, sustainability and safety.??

Looking ahead, I am excited about what the future holds. Our ongoing developments, including new releases and industry-specific features, promise to keep us at the forefront of technology, helping businesses overcome challenges.???

Here’s to continued success, growth, and innovation in the months ahead.??

It's great to see new features in PV Elite and looking back over the years it has improved considerably. If I could humbly request Pad flanges at some point, as this is the most common thing I need that isn't included. However, can PVE be brought up to compliance with current design codes? It's currently about 2 years behind the release of PD5500. I hadn't checked dates of other codes, but I suspect the same. ASME and EN13445 have similar update cycles. We cannot comply with the essential safety requirement 1(4) of PESR and the equivalent in the PED without using the latest code. As PV Elite is 2 years behind we cannot meet legal obligations when using it. PD5500:2024+A1 was just released which comes into effect from Jan 2025, but PV Elite has only just been updated to include PD5500:2021+A3, which is 2 years old now.
