Reflecting on 2024: A Defining Year in My Career Journey

As I step into the new year, I’ve had the chance to reflect on the year that was, 2024. It was a year of significant growth for me, both professionally and personally. I am deeply grateful for the experiences that shaped me and the people who guided me along the way.

At the beginning of my career in India, I was fortunate to work in financial services for organisations like Franklin Templeton , ABN AMRO Ventures , and Standard Chartered Corporate & Investment Banking , at a time when many Indians struggled to access basic banking and investment products and services. With the guidance of mentors like Soumyajit Ghosh and Anindya Paulchaudhuri , I contributed to educating people about financial services, helping many gain access to financial products and plan for a secure financial future.

In the mid-2000s, I moved to Australia, where I continued my career in community banking and member-owned banks like Bendigo and Adelaide Bank , ME Bank , and Hume Bank . Over the years, I’ve specialised in structured finance, bank treasury, non-financial and ESG reporting, and technology and operational transformation projects. This work has reinforced my belief in educating people about financial services and making them accessible to all Australians, especially regional and vulnerable communities. The fulfillment I gain from knowing that my work has a direct impact on people’s lives keeps me motivated every day.

As I look back, I realise how crucial it was to have had the support and encouragement from those around me, especially from mentors like Gary Dickson , and John Caelli who encouraged me to pursue leadership education. Their advice led me to the Program for Leadership Development at 美国哈佛商学院 , which I completed in 2024. It was during this time that I truly discovered my purpose—understanding how emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Quantum Computing can reshape financial services and how aligning business strategy with Sustainability Practices can create long-term prosperity for all.

Looking ahead, I am focused on continuing my work at the intersection of Financial Services, Emerging Technologies, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). My purpose has always been to share knowledge about financial services, and now I’m expanding my mission to include educating others about emerging technologies and ESG practices. I believe it’s essential that everyone, regardless of their background, has access to the insights and tools they need to succeed in the rapidly changing world of finance, technology and sustainability. By doing so, I hope to ensure that everyone can participate in the opportunities of the future.

I am thankful for all the people who have helped me reach this point—my professors at HBS professors Joshua Margolis , Leslie John , Monique Burns Thompson , Gunnar Trumbull , Scott Mayfield, Natalia Rigol and Thomas Delong. and my fellow batchmates of PLD29 (LG33 - Adam Hofman , Gyunel Rustamova , Humberto Salazar , Mohamed Al Hadi Nathan Smith , Pranay Agarwal , Priya Purush , Ryosuke "Rio" Oyama & LG4D - Nichole Miller, MSTM, SBB , Mei Windsor , Bader ALIDRA , Jeehan Balfaqaih , Yousef Alshuraidah, PE , and Ron Smith ). You have been an inspiration and source of constant support.

As we move into 2025, I look forward to continuing this journey of learning, sharing knowledge, and innovating together to create a more inclusive and sustainable future for all.
