Reflecting on 2024
The Center on Great Teachers and Leaders
We use evidence-based strategies to help you build a diverse, talented educator workforce for every student.
Dear Colleagues and Friends:
Over this past year, educators across the county have illustrated their resilience and flexibility weathering the winds of change. Cutting edge research has provided new insights into the demands of being an educator - from growing student mental health concerns to increasing populations of migrant and multilingual learners to name but a few. Findings also continue to illustrate the crucial role educators play in shaping our future. Our team at the Center on Great Teachers and Leaders (GLT Center) continues to integrate these insights into evidence-based approaches that strengthen and support the educator workforce.
From data-driven practices to cross-cutting strategies, our team has developed solutions that empower states and districts to address shortages and improve educator recruitment and retention. Over the course of this year, we have shared Research Round-Ups and New Year’s Expert Reading Recommendations for keeping up with the latest and greatest. We also launched the new GTL?Center website which highlights our collaboratives, partnerships, and?projects?that support states and districts as they create greater coherence across reforms and policies.
The GTL Center remains committed to serving states and districts with expertise, services, and resources that:
