Adding to our collective expertise, this year saw the inclusion of eight new team members. Coming from diverse backgrounds, they bring fresh perspectives and, incidentally, and an impressive stash of snacks to our company. Plus, they all used to sing and love the famous 90’s anthems!

This year, White took on seven new projects in various sectors ranging from transportation, AI, and sustainability, bringing our total to 30 ongoing projects. Beyond project milestones, some members of our Thessaloniki team recently gathered for a festive celebration. The office was decorated with lights and DIY touches, creating a warm and cheerful atmosphere. ?? BECoop: Empowering Sustainable Bioenergy Communities
BECoop H2020 project, coordinated by White, played a key role in "Re-Energising Europe," centering on community bioenergy mobilization. As the project concludes, it leaves behind a tangible legacy, including the BECoop Replication Handbook, facilitating the development of community bioenergy heating projects. Actively transferring concepts to eight follower cases across Europe, BECoop's impact spans increased awareness of energy communities, bioenergy benefits, social cohesion, and job opportunities in bioenergy technology.?
?? W4RES: Shaping Inclusive Energy Transition
W4RES - Women for market uptake of renewable heating and cooling wrapped up activities on October 25 in Brussels, concluding with a policy panel, networking lunch, and a focus on gender inclusion. Insights from Elsebeth Terkelsen , Charlotte Schlicke , and Carina Holzapfel highlighted W4RES's impact on policy, market support, and real-life initiatives. The final session emphasized replication in renewable heating and cooling, along with concrete gender tools and information shared by Marilys Louvet and Katharina Habersbrunner .
??Pop-Machina's Impactful Policy Roundtable in Brussels
On Thursday, September 14, 2023, Pop-Machina hosted a policy roundtable at Muntpunt Library in Brussels. The event welcomed over 27 influential policy stakeholders, researchers, and entrepreneurs to discuss the circular economy and the maker movement. Insightful panel dialogues explored the relationship between policy, sustainability, and innovation, fostering collaborative action. The event concluded with networking opportunities, connecting stakeholders to shaping a sustainable future through circular economy principles and maker culture.?
?? RE4Industry's Grand Finale
Amidst the European Sustainable Energy Week, RE4Industry EU project concluded its journey. Alessandro Polito , from DG Energy, emphasized renewables as the catalyst for the industry's decarbonization. The event displayed RE4Industry's narrative, successful cases, and collaborations, marking a noteworthy collaboration with Retrofeed EU project , yielding a 12% reduction in CO2 emissions. A reflective roundtable explored electrification, circular markets, and the crucial role of stable renewable energy prices. Brigitte Hasewend of ESEIA - European Sustainable Energy Innovation Alliance wrapped up the event, highlighting shared perspectives and the collective pursuit of decarbonizing the Energy Intensive Industry sector in Europe. ????
?? ECO-READY Year in Review: A Year of Milestones and Collaboration?
Eco-Ready is proud to mark its first anniversary, highlighting significant steps in the development of our digital Observatory for real-time assessments of the food system. The December consortium meeting reflects a year of collaborative efforts, with White Research leading WP2, focusing on stakeholder engagement and empowerment. Our EU-wide survey, exploring citizens' needs for sustainable consumption, is a noteworthy achievement as we move forward in fulfilling our Stakeholder analysis deliverable. ?? ALFA Project Unveiled: Shaping a Sustainable Future in Livestock Farming!?
In 2023, White Research conducted extensive surveys, engaging 3,000 citizens and 200 experts to delve into biogas perceptions in EU livestock farming. Identifying three successful Belgian farms with biogas systems, White Research co-organized an impactful awareness event, drawing local policymakers and farmers. The launch of ALFA's official website and social media channels early in the year facilitated the dissemination of project updates and results, culminating in a substantial following on social media and newsletter subscribers by year-end.?
