As I reflect on the past year, it has been an incredible journey marked by transformation, resilience, and embracing new opportunities. Shifting gears from my predominant focus on IFS to a thriving career path in SAP at Resulting IT has been nothing short of empowering. This transition allowed me to explore uncharted territories while leveraging my honed skills in ERP Strategy and Relationships, proving that it's never too late to venture into new domains.
I'm thrilled to round off this year with a new role as part of an amazing team that I'm deeply grateful to be a part of. However, the true highlight of 2023 was the launch of the second series of the Women in ERP (WERP) Podcast in March. This platform featured incredible voices from the ERP sector, and hosting a live episode from the 艾菲诗软件 Staines office for International Womens Day truly showcased the wide-reaching impact of The Women in ERP Podcast, solidifying it's role as a catalyst for female empowerment within the industry.
I owe a debt of gratitude to my friend and partner in this journey, Stephanie Poore , who has been an incredible co-host for Women in ERP? over the past two years. As WERP takes on a new shape next year with an exciting new format, I'm thrilled for what's ahead.
This year also saw a bold venture with my husband — a studio that stands as a symbol of empowerment and creativity. Encouraged by our two strong-willed daughters, Chris Allman actively champions female empowerment too. This endeavour wasn't without its challenges. There was a moment where the studio structure collapsed on me, a stark reminder of what can happen when you try to do everything yourselves. Rebuilding, both physically and emotionally, became a testament to perseverance.
Amidst professional strides in the partnership division and expanding networks within SAP, personal challenges surfaced. Balancing professional growth while supporting my children through their milestones—whether it was navigating schooling journeys or empowering discussions during transitions—highlighted the intricate balancing act women often undertake. Seeing my children thrive has been an incredible source of pride and learning.
As the year draws to a close, the studio nears completion, symbolising resilience and unwavering determination. Looking ahead to 2024, the upcoming lineup for WERP promises to amplify the voices of inspiring women in the ERP sector, reinforcing the enduring power of female representation and empowerment. We’re heading to the USA in March for SXSW and, as it’s always an opportunity to network, I can't wait to meet up with some of the WERP community across the pond.
