Reflecting on 2019

Happy New Year! As you might know, I like to post each year reflecting on the prior year and thinking about the next. I know 2019 wasn't a great year for many of my friends, but as I reflect this morning it's immensely clear I have so much to be grateful for. Rather than a new year's resolution I thought I would share some favorite memories from 2019 in the form of a gratitude list. I'd love to hear from you as well, so please hit reply and let me know what you are grateful for in 2019!

1. Here's a photo of Brian and I in Paris where we'll be getting married in May. It's hard not to be grateful to be with such an amazing person, for the laws to allow us to get married, and for the love and support of our family and friends.

2. I went to Burning Man for the first time (completely sober) and still love riding my electric motorcycle every chance I get. Grateful for these experiences and the opportunity to grow.

3. In 2019 I ran a few 5Ks and already managed to ski Brighton, Alta, and Copper this season. Grateful for my friends and health.

4. In 2019 I had the opportunity to meet with presidential hopefuls including Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg. I also had a chance to visit Cuba. I'm grateful to live in an amazing country where truly anything is possible (Cuba is quite the opposite), and while politics can be stressful, it's amazing to be involved in a small way. 

5. On the left I am at my engagement party with Francis who is almost 4, and on the right honored as a top talent under 40. Grateful for the recognition and just an amazing year.

6. Josh.ai (my company) continues to grow and do more and more exciting things. On the left I am photographed for 5280 Magazine and on the right I was awarded a number of patents in 2019. Grateful to get to work in an exciting space where we can innovate and solve hard problems.

7. And last but not least, grateful for the team I get to work with. If you know me, you know I spend almost all of my time working, and it's because of this group I enjoy going to work each day!

Of course there's so much more to be grateful for as well. I can't wait for all the exciting things about to happen in 2020. It's going to be a big year!
