Reflecting on a 14-Year Journey: From Recruiter to Chief People Officer at Kerv Digital

Fourteen years ago, on the 4th of February, 2010, I embarked on a journey in the corporate world, starting as a recruiter. This date marks the beginning of a path that was anything but straightforward. Fast forward to the 4th of February, 2020, in a twist of fate or perhaps serendipity (and me giving up the 100th employee badge), I joined Kerv Digital eventually leading the people function as Chief People Officer. This day symbolizes not just a milestone but a remarkable loop in my journey — from stepping into the corporate world to leading the human resources department at an organization I am deeply proud of.

This journey, marked by professional highs and lows, personal battles, and an ongoing fight against a rare form of cancer, has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Each role I've held was a stepping stone, challenging me to grow, adapt, and evolve. From a recruiter to leading the human resources department, every position taught me invaluable lessons about leadership, resilience, and the power of empathy. The failures along the way? They were my greatest teachers. They taught me resilience isn't just about getting back up; it's about learning, adapting, and moving forward with a renewed purpose.

Battling health issues while navigating a career was a test I never prepared for. Yet, it taught me the true essence of resilience and the importance of health and well-being, not just for me but for everyone around me. It emphasized the significance of a supportive work environment prioritizing people's well-being above all else.

Throughout this journey, my biggest learning has been that if you genuinely care for the people you work with, as you do for your family, everything else will fall into place.
