Reflect and Realign: Lent and Life!

The beginning of 2021 brought with it so much hope and a new strength to survive and thrive. Now that the year’s Lenten season is nearing its end, I want to express my thoughts on how important it is to reflect and reconnect. I hope that we have taken this time to look back and reposition ourselves in such a way that we find qualities in our lives. For me as a Catholic, Lent has always been an important time to reflect on myself. The thought process also involves being more accepting of other people and becoming a better listener.
GiveCentral earlier launched a Lenten reflection series where I have also contributed a piece for Ash Wednesday and it has indeed been a rewinding and refreshing experience. We as humans all need a time of calmness and serenity in our busy lives and I feel the Lenten season is that perfect window; it contributes in helping you to get every priority in order. As a nonprofit professional, the right kind of reflection and self improvement helps you develop more empathy and understanding. The nonprofit world is quickly evolving and online giving and communication are becoming the main trend. In a situation where most of us are connected through digital platforms and tools, I hope that we never lose the emotional bond and connection that is so essential to the creation of a lasting relationship.
Prioritizing your spiritual, mental and physical health is important, so are the ties that you have with your family, friends, business partners, staff members and supporters. I hope that we all strive towards being better human beings than we already are, may we all get it right!
Prayers and best wishes,
Patrick J Coleman, CEO, GiveCentral
