Reflect Public Beta

Reflect Public Beta

We're thrilled to announce the opening of Reflect to the public! Within minutes, you can connect to your existing data sources, design interactive views of your data, and embed them into your application or service.

My co-founder Brad Heller and I started Reflect to create a better way for companies to design, publish, and share their data. We had experienced the pains of building analytics and reporting and wanted to help others learn from our past mistakes and give them tools to create great products. Traditional analytics and BI vendors didn’t understand modern use cases or the needs of developers, so we set out to create a new category: data visualization-as-a-service.

Our first line of code was committed on March 1st of 2015, almost exactly two years ago. It’s amazing how far we’ve come! We went through Techstars Seattle last spring, raised a $2.5m seed round in July, and grew our team to 10 people. And we’re just getting started!

After working with thousands of beta customers (thank you!), we’ve completely revamped our product and introduced some new features:

A new authoring experience

The Reflect Studio allows non-technical users to design views of their data without needing a developer.

Easier data integration

The Reflect Agent lets you securely connect to your data in any environment, behind your firewall, without ever moving data off your servers.

Visual data modeling

Create definitions for your data right inside our web app. You can also use custom SQL when you need it.

Advanced embedding

Create parameterized views, interactions, and embed Reflect views in your app that feel completely native.

New data connections

We’ve added support for Microsoft SQL Server, SQLite, CSV, and the ability to speak to REST APIs (reach out to us for more info on this).

Teams

Invite collaborators to work on a data visualization project with you.

A better workflow for developers

We’ve improved our docs and made it easier for developers to customize Reflect when and how they want to.

Anyone can now sign up on our website. Give it a spin and let us know what you think. We look forward to working with you in 2017 and beyond. Thank you for all your support!
