Refiring Up My Life

Came across this book over the weekend whilst performing my routine chauferring of kids for their tuition classes.

Over a warm cup of coffee and flipping thru the text of this book, I reflected on myself (and perhaps some of my peers) how I was coping with my current engagements, career, family and life in general.

I found the book engaging, as the examples served a reminder to me that it is always important to take a step back and reflect, on what I am passionate about and whether I am doing something about it. Concepts such as having a "Last Minute Gang" where we move out of our routine, start saying "Yes, why not?" to invitations to gatherings, parties and other social events, instead of using excuses that our busy routine cannot accomodate other events. Sometimes, we need to remember that our social circles and network grew when we were more open to new ideas and contacts, hungering to meet more people and getting to learn from their experiences, how we grew in knowledge, not only by our own efforts but as a group. When we reflect on our past successes (and failures), there is also a need to remember that there is always a higher purpose somewhat guiding us, and the need to have faith in what we are doing, especially during challenging times. We need to remember to love more and focus on others, rather than to bin count what we can gain. While we cannot change what has happen in the past, we need to remember that we are in control of our future. And the time to do so is the Present.

I hope you will find this a good read and find some use tips or reminders to Refire your life too :-) Cheers!
