Refining the future with self lacing smart shoes .
Nike Adapt BB, an app controlled basketball auto lacing smart sneaker line up, originally the successor of Nike's 2016 Hyper Adapt 1.0 technology which introduced power lacing, means lacing via motor mechanism. These shoes comes with a ton of technology packed inside it. Meant for providing the best possible fit for basketball athletes by smartening up the fit and customization aspects. Initially, these have been prepared for basketball athletes because in a basketball courtyard, the sneakers which are comfortable at the match opening might become constrictive after half an hour, because during the gameplay the foot size can gradually increase and thus the shoe needs change ultimately. Adapt BB is savvy enough to sense the tension in the feet and provides the ability for quickly loosening of grip to provide better blood flow and tightening again for performance which can act as a key element in the gameplay and somehow contribute to one's performa on the ground. Basically, when someone slips foot in the shoe, there is a custom motor and gear train that senses the required tension to keep the foot snug and avoid foot roll movement.
Irrespective of auto lacing, it has two physical buttons also for manually controlling the pressure. The one near the heel loosens the grip while the other tightens. In order to control this mechanism Nike has introduced an exclusive app Fit Adapt, designed with clean UI depicting L for Left foot and R for right foot. It has a battery indicator depicting the charging left in the shoes and provides an option for customised fit as per the scenario and lighting control without even touching the shoes.
The new Adapt BB sneakers will launch next month, and will be priced at $350 (around Rs24,800). The exact India pricing and availability details are awaited.
