Re:engaging Your Influence

I Help High Performing Entrepreneurs and Teams Reduce Burnout and Increase Performance by finding equilibrium between their inner motivations and outer influence.
I don't know if it's the winter weather, or the beginning of the year, but?I've been in a really contemplative space lately.?
I've been spending a lot more time writing.? Digging into the topics I mentioned in last week's article more and more.?
As I was thinking and writing more on the Dual Lens Method this topic emerged.? The difference between generational wealth, and generational influence.
Generational wealth can be fleeting. Markets fluctuate, economies rise and fall, and one bad investment can wipe out years of financial growth. But there’s something far more powerful and enduring than wealth: generational influence.
I may not have inherited wealth, but I come from a legacy of influence. As a 4th-generation business owner (I recently found this out, I’ve always thought I was the 3rd!), I’ve learned firsthand that the power of influence is far more impactful than any financial inheritance. Inner motivation shapes outer influence, and that influence doesn’t stall or fade with the market. It bleeds into the next generation, expanding and evolving with each passing year.
In today’s fast-paced world, it's easy to get distracted, to disengage from what truly matters, especially when external factors weigh heavily on us. But in order to continue to be a high performer—someone who thrives, leads, and leaves a lasting legacy—you must re-engage. This re-engagement isn’t just about working harder or pushing through burnout; it’s about aligning your inner motivation with your outer influence.
This is where the Dual Lens Method becomes essential. To truly maximize your influence, you need to understand both how you see the world (the Mirror) and how the world sees you (the Megaphone). When your inner motivation aligns with your outer influence, the impact is exponential.

The Mirror reflects your core beliefs, your values, your inner fire—the fuel that drives you. But the Megaphone amplifies that inner motivation into the world, shaping how others perceive and respond to you. It’s the key to re-engaging both with yourself and others, and it's what makes your influence so lasting. Without this dual lens, we can lose sight of our true purpose, and without that clarity, our impact becomes diluted.
Re-engaging in this way means reconnecting with your core, your drive, and your ability to influence the world around you. When both the Mirror and the Megaphone are in sync, you are not only motivated but also creating a lasting, positive impact. This is the kind of influence that carries forward, creating ripples that last far beyond our lifetimes. Your legacy, whether personal or professional, is built on the energy and intention you put into the world. And this legacy is something you control.
I’m reminded every day that what I leave behind isn’t just about what I’ve accomplished but the ripple effect of the influence I’ve created. It’s in the people I’ve coached, the teams I’ve trained, and the change I’ve sparked. And I can tell you… that influence is far more powerful than any number in a bank account (even though that’s nice too!).
And that’s a legacy worth leaving.
Cheers to Growth!
