The Sitip Group, a leader in the production of technical textiles for both industrial and apparel applications, has revealed its latest accomplishments in environmental, social, and economic sustainability with the release of its 2023 Sustainability Report. The report underscores significant reductions in Scope 2 emissions and highlights certifications related to corporate social responsibility (SA8000) and environmental performance (ISO14064).

Bergamo, September 2024 - Sitip Group, a prominent manufacturer based in Bergamo specialising in technical textiles for industrial and clothing sectors, proudly unveils its third Sustainability Report. This report is a testament to the progress made in environmental, social, and transparency practices, marking another milestone in Sitip’s commitment to a more sustainable and responsible future.

A flagship of the Sitip Group, sustainability has always been at the core of the company philosophy. Since 2021, the company has voluntarily issued an annual sustainability report, aligning with the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards.?

The 2023 Sustainability Report highlights the Group’s significant accomplishments in reducing environmental impact, enhancing human resources, and promoting responsible innovation. Notably, considerable progress has been made in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, with a 6.74% decrease in Scope 1 emissions compared to the base year, and a 17.38% reduction in Scope 2 emissions using the Market-Based method. These results were achieved through the adoption of efficient practices and a greater reliance on renewable energy sources. This success has led Sitip to obtain ISO 14064 certification, an international standard for quantifying and verifying GHG emissions.

Central to Sitip’s sustainability strategy is the concept of the circular economy, which integrates innovation, sustainability, and value creation. The 2023 report reveals that 66.77% of the waste collected was directed towards recovery, including recycling. This commitment underscores Sitip’s dedication to concrete, sustainable practices.

Beyond environmental achievements, the Sitip Group has earned SA8000 certification, recognising its adherence to corporate social responsibility standards. This certification acknowledges ethical business practices, respect for workers’ rights, safe working conditions, fair wages, and the absence of discrimination and child labour.
