Will the reduction of Benefit in Kind in the UK be enough to encourage company car drivers into EVs?

Over the past few days and much heralded by the EV industry the UK government announced that benefit in kind tax would be reduced to zero for electric vehicles.
We have been in this industry for some time and have been waiting patiently for the tipping point that would see us move from evangelists to actually delivering significant transformation.
The launch of the Model S came and went without too much change
The release of the acclaimed road to zero report by Chris Grayling created some interest but this dissipated quickly
The Jaguar IPace came but with only 900 units produced in the first year was never going to deliver the impact needed.
Bringing things right up to date the model 3 was released in the UK only a few weeks ago and the excitement is noticeable but this launch seems to have fallen short.
So now we have the benefit in kind announcement.
Will this deliver the significant encouragement to change or will it be another news story for the papers that will last a few news cycles and then die?
