Reducing wasted market research?
I think we all would recognise that, in qualitative market or customer research, much of the primary research is left unused. Many interview transcripts contain nuggets of gold that are not relevant for the specific topic of the research and never see the light of day again. Or the research itself identifies trends and thinking that are valid but just not immediately useful. Sometimes reports get tucked away in a drawer where even members of the commissioning organisation can't find them again!
At Insightflow we’re keen to try and reduce this wastage. We’re building tools to help researchers share unused research and to gain from each other’s unused work. Our hope is that this will help make everybody’s work richer, faster and more cost effective.
We are already working with a group of researchers to understand their thoughts on this (and to help us shape the tools we’re building) but would love to get a wider set of opinions.
What do you think?
We're keen to understand what researchers think.
· Would you like to see other people’s raw data – especially if Insightflow made it easier to find the things that are relevant to you?
· Would you be prepared to share primary source material - especially those parts you have not used?
We’d love to hear your thoughts.
