The Flood Expo - https://ow.ly/OJ1aO - is the world’s leading event dedicated to the preparation and management of flooding, held at the ExCeL, London once every year. ABOUT SIMON CROWTHER

The flooding of Simon's house in 2007 kick-started his interest in flooding.

Through his pioneering work, Simon was awarded a prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship and then went on to represent the UK in the Stockholm World Water Week, courtesy of CIWEM. He dined with the King and Queen of Sweden and received a diploma from the Crown Princess Victoria, an experience only enjoyed by a limited number of individuals, from all over the world, each year.

In 2012 he established Flood Protection Solutions Ltd. They are the sole UK distributor of the Water-Gate barrier. The Water-Gate barrier is a versatile product and provides a cost efficient and effective method for preventing flood damage.

Simon achieved a Civil Engineering Degree at the University of Nottingham. His dissertation was on ''The Effect of Rising Sea Levels on the UK’. 

Simon is a finalist in the Business Green Leaders Awards 2016.
