Rediscover Your Mojo and Dive Back into the Deep End of the Executive Talent Pool

Rediscover Your Mojo and Dive Back into the Deep End of the Executive Talent Pool

If you once had a reputation as a mover and shaker and a deal maker, but lately you’ve been spinning your wheels for months or even years, and you’re wondering why no-one seems to be hiring high caliber, seasoned executives who’ve been there, done it, and “got the t-shirt” anymore…

Because, after all…

this is the age of the millennial…

and you’re old enough to be their mom or dad (or even grandparent)!

So, you’ve resigned yourself to watching the rest of the game from the bench…

even though you know you have tons of “hard won” experience and even wisdom…

that would enable you to create value, make a great contribution, and make a difference in an executive role in any business…

if the right opportunity came your way.

But the phone’s just not ringing the way it used to…

Well, think again…

The economy is booming, there are plenty of opportunities out there, and you deserve your piece of the action!

But, the way executives get hired has changed, and you have to approach the market differently!

Here are 5 steps you can take to get back into the game…

Step 1: Create or Update your LinkedIn profile.

Yes, social media is where it’s at now!

Many recruiters’ first point of call is LinkedIn – will they find you, and what will they find?

Step 2: Check your headshot.

Can you see your knees on your headshot photo, or a family pet, or are you jumping in the air, or do you look like a 70’s TV star…

does your headshot need an update to make you look more professional?

Step 3: Create a compelling resume.

Does it reference compelling results? Do you showcase references, data to support your claims, and impactful anecdotes?

Step 4: Brush up your interview skills.

When was the last time you had an interview? Practice, practice, practice!

Step 5: Create your action plan and reach out to find a professional to hold you accountable.

Most importantly, do you have an action plan and a professional who is on your side and following up with you to make sure you implement it?

Sounds like a lot of work I know, but the good news is you don’t have to do everything yourself, so…

If you’re ready, willing, and able to take these 5 steps, reach out to other professionals, network, make new connections, refresh your skills, build your action plan, and ultimately get hired. Find out how here!

One of the things I like most about this article is how incredible the power of suggestion is! By you stating that there is a robust economy for people to jump into, it helps motivate your audience toward reaching it. Thanks!
