REDIRECTION TO ELEVATION
If you read my previous article (rejection to redirection), then this right here is the sequel! If you didn't, please head to my profile and do so.
So last night I got a phone call from a friend. Since it was someone I had not spoken to in a few months, I hurriedly picked up the call. After some niceties and brief catching up, she wanted to find out if I was still searching for a job, or interested in the consulting we had been doing together in 2020. I informed her that indeed I had some good news and my year ended on a high because, I got THE JOB in December. It was at this moment that I realized I had been so caught up with the fast paced transition and feeling so overwhelmed, that I didn't take a moment to write this article.
See, when I wrote Rejection to Redirection, I was at a very low moment in my life, career-wise. Uncertain on whether things would finally look up for me. But one thing for sure, I just kept having faith. In all honesty, my mother's constant reassurance that when the job finally comes, it'll be the one destined for me, was what kept me going in those difficult moments. And true to her words, the experience has been nothing short of amazing. It has been 3 months in my new role, in an industry that I absolutely love with a young, energetic and trendy team! I am so grateful to everyone who cheered me along the way, offered me temporary opportunities to make ends meet, and those who have believed in me, always!
After 75 unsuccessful applications, the 76th changed my life forever! For anyone searching for a job or the next opportunity in life, take it from me, the road may be long, windy, lonely, tough, but the destination is beautiful, trust me. And yes.... you will arrive!
