Redhawk Records - Sprint #1

Mark Park and I are extremely excited to announce Redhawk Records! Mark came to me with this idea towards the end of May of 2022, and it was a tremendous idea. He explained how he wanted to provide a venue for Naperville Central High School musicians to express themselves artistically and musically, and I was right on board. Furthermore, we decided that we want Redhawk Records to provide business students with the opportunity to help develop their business skills by assisting with song promotion, marketing, and record label business law. Mark has a vast background in music, as he is on Naperville Central's Marching Band, as well as giving his own private drum lessons. Mark and I have just finished our first sprint, and we are proud to say we have completed all of the goals we set for this sprint. We gained approval for the club, obtained sponsors, and started to acquire members. One thing we were dissapointed in was the fact that we couldn't establish our own business email because we are not filing as an LLC. Also one challenge we came across was gaining access to certain rooms to hold our meetings after school. As of today, 9/26/2022, we have had two meetings, one in the orchestra room and the other in the music production room. Using the music production room and getting approval for the use of that room was challenging because there is thousands of dollars worth of equipment in there, which could lead to potential security reasons, but our band director is being incredibly generous letting us use the room. We will plan to stay in the music production room until we start recording and producing which Mark and I hope to happen very shortly, and in that case the business team will move into an accounting room. We also created social media accounts, made and built out a website, and have made this club known around the school. These marketing efforts have resulted in over 20 members consistently attending meetings, which we hope to increase. Reflecting on the past month, Mark and I believe we were extremely successful in this first sprint, and we can only see Redhawk Records growing and growing.
