RedHat Certified Architect Failure Journey
Failure is?not?amazing. Failure?hurts. Failure makes me cry.
It all began in Chennai, India, where I started using Linux and SCO UNIX with my tutor/mentor/friend/childhood best shoulder prabhakaran s (now lives only in my thoughts) in a 6 by 6 bachelor room.
I had a strong interest in learning SCO UNIX and Novel Netware even though I was a preventative maintenance engineer (computer cleaner). I didn't think the black screens were pleasant at first, but I soon realized how essential they were.
Then I started focusing on SUN Solaris. Whenever a server engineer from Wipro was called to a customer's location and needed a SPARC server spare [motherboard, replacement server, or any logistics], I was there as a backup from my team and took this opportunity to?interact with senior people and started learning about server concepts, hardware, and so on. At one point, I approached all senior people at Wipro and asked for some opportunities to handle SUN Server hardware issues. I was repeatedly told that a computer cleaner was never suitable for server-related senior calls.
Finally, my mentor prabhakaran s allowed me to participate in all of his server calls, and yes, I learned a lot from scratch after many sleepless nights at 维布络 .
I completed Sun Solaris Certifications too.
When we learned that Oracle was buying SUN Microsystems in 2009, we had a strong feeling that Oracle would eventually kill Solaris because of their existing OS. So I narrowed my focus to REDHAT from 2009. So far, it's been a long and winding road with Redhat and related knowledge. Passing the 红帽 exam is not easy and requires pure luck due to the extensive 红帽 lab based exams. The one challenge was that there were very few good 红帽 training institutes in India in 2011. During my research, I discovered a good institute in Ernakulam , Kerala. Sanju Raj, RHCI RHCA Level XVI,RHCDS,RHCSS,RHCJA,RHCVA Sappio Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd is the one-man army who pushed me to the no limit.
For the first time, I admired his enthusiasm for teaching. That's where I really honed my teaching skills. He does not simply deliver any subject from a book. He only delivered from his crisp notes and hard work [700 page book...he covered from his 30 page notes]. That has been the key in all of my sessions, trainings, and conferences so far with majority of students will feel only hands-on knowledge rather than just theory. Another critical point is the 30 page preparation...He will require us to do all hands-on practice in front of him.
I've been thinking for a while that delivering sessions isn't such a big deal. They must do hands-on IN front of us at least 4 to 5 times before leaving. So that when they return home, they can do hands-on practice multiple times, change their resume, and confidently clear their next dream good packaged jobs.
There was 3 main challenges at that time.
I decided to take a chance and travelled to Ernakulam.
'Siddha Treatment checkups'?are available from early morning until 9 a.m.?
This went almost 7 months and yes completed my RHCA finally after so many travels between Chennai and Kerala.
Looking back on my life, every major success I've ever had has been followed by a failure.

I recall all of the times when I felt hurt and shriveled up. I returned home from Kerala and went to my room the first time I had a major failure in RHCSA. That was my first lesson: nothing comes without hard work.
I was motivated to do all of these things because I had previously failed. Not in spite of that.
Failure motivates me. Failure is what motivates me to get off the couch and work. Failure is what drives me insane and obsessed. Failure boosted my inner soul?to go and?fight.
Failure is the reason I succeeded.
Every time I fail, I know I will surprise a lot of people. I don't believe it; I know it.
We need to realize our inner potential to?achieve great things. Our thoughts have power over us as humans. The more obsessed and motivated we are, the more focused we are, and the more likely we are to succeed.
When I fail, I feel a fire within me. During the crisis, when I was raising funds for additional exams/trainings, I thought I had failed (everything was pointing to that direction, but, somehow it all solved itself in the end.)
I've never experienced anything like it in my life. I've never felt such passion within myself. My goal was to write a best-selling technology teaching to raise fund for the dying cancer children. Nobody in their right mind would believe that was possible, but I was not only committed to it, but I also believed I had a good chance of success.
There is always an inner voice within us that says, "You are tired today; don't work." These are the reasons we justify ourselves. But when you're obsessed, your body, brain, muscles, and spirit are all ready to fight. What I witnessed was the death of the part of me that made excuses in an instant.
I never wrote a book because I never got the time due to many of my cancer children aim. A part of me felt bad about abandoning all that "fire." Perhaps failure would have compelled me to do things I can only imagine doing now. But my point is that success is achieved through obsession.

It helps to note that success entails a process and a journey. The process of attaining one’s desired goals underlies highs and lows alike. Taking failures as opportunities for learning and personal growth is helpful. With an attitude of openness, try to assess where things went wrong and what could have been done differently. Refrain from generalizing failure and try to understand things without any judgment. By fostering a mindset of growth and optimism, one can word towards becoming opportunistic and learn from failures while working towards success.
If you decide to pursue an RHCA, be aware that it is very difficult and tedious (in many ways). You must be willing to learn a variety of technologies in depth in a comprehensive way to fully comprehend them. Do not expect to have everything go your way. Even if you are well prepared, there have been always challenges you will need to overcome, both in terms of the exam(s) and in life itself. RHCA demands concentration, hard work, determination , and natural ability.
Some people become obsessed with their ego. Some people become obsessed with proving others wrong. Some people become obsessed with failure.
If you fail and do not get up, you may not be motivated enough.
Failure brings "the moment" to life. You can either get up or stay put.
So testing is a valuable approach.
But even in things like how you live your life - a disastrous failure can (and definitely SHOULD) teach you something about yourself that you can possibly fix - or at least improve upon.
Sure - it’s tough to do that - and foresight is definitely better than failure as a means to improve things - but if failure is what you’ve got - make use of it thin the best way you can.
So - just as with engineering:
RedHat Certifications = Practice + Practice , Again Practice
