The Redesigned SGR Job Board

SGR’s 10 in 10 Note – April 3, 2024

After months of work, we’ve just launched the redesigned SGR Job Board. We first introduced our job board in 2010, and this is our most extensive redesign yet. The new site has a more streamlined look with easier navigation to allow people to search our large national database of local government positions, and it allows people to sign up for daily or weekly job alerts. ?

The SGR Job Board is one of the most popular products offered by SGR, so much so that we now operate the second-largest local government job board in the nation. More than 16,000 people visit the SGR Job Board every month. You can find it at SGRJobs.com or from SGR’s homepage at GovernmentResource.com . ?

As I mentioned, we introduced our original job board in 2010. Things have changed a lot in the local government job market since then. The traditional guidance about knowing what’s happening in the job market and ensuring that your resume is current is still?relevant and remains good advice. These are the basics and should remain a part of everyone’s career development process. But it shouldn’t stop there. ?

Finding a great job board with jobs relevant to your chosen field is a critical first step. But how you prepare to “put your best foot forward,” as they say, is largely up to the job candidate. So, we’ve put together a lineup of candidate resources to help with that. ?Here you’ll find help for things like optimizing your resume and nailing a virtual interview. For those looking to change their approach to work, there’s a section on transitioning to contract work or you might consider becoming an embedded employee . ?

And speaking of changes, retirement today doesn’t always mean retirement in the traditional sense. More and more people are extending their careers by becoming interim professionals and putting their years of experience and expertise to work for organizations looking to fill the gap between the departure of an executive team member and the hiring of another. We’re now working with more than 500 interim professionals around the country. ?

Of course, SGR is best known for our full range of recruitment services . Since you’re getting the 10 in 10, you’re receiving the latest recruitment listings each week . ?

Times have indeed changed in the modern workplace. But it remains about people—helping them to find the right place or, from the employer's side, finding the right people. How that happens is an evolving process—one that SGR will continue to be committed to. We’ll also remain fiercely committed to helping you stay up to date on what’s happening out there. ?

For now, we’re happy to celebrate the new design of the SGR Job Board. We hope you like it and that you’ll take the opportunity to visit soon. ?

Have a great week, everyone.
