Boise State University , California State University-Fresno , Colorado State University , and San Diego State University are the four programs that will begin competition in the Pac-12 in the 2026-27 academic year.

The reasons for the realignment were mostly due to the above schools wanting to maximize their television revenue. Washington State University and Oregon State University were the only two schools that stayed in the conference, leaving them ineligible for postseason competition.?
