Let's imagine vibrant, affordable neighborhoods with cozy garages and Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) nestled in the backyards of each home. Here’s a design that captures the essence of community living while also introducing these new features:

  1. Home Placement: Keep the homes arranged along curved streets, preserving the charming, meandering feel.
  2. Garages/ADUs: Each backyard will host a garage or ADU, accessed via small driveways or alleyways behind the houses. These can serve as additional living spaces or workshops.
  3. Green Space: The central green space remains the heart of the neighborhood, with a winding waterway, walking paths, and a quaint gazebo for communal and intentional gatherings.
  4. Paths and Trees: Adjust the placement of trees and walking trails to integrate the new structures seamlessly into the neighborhood, while maintaining its lush and inviting atmosphere.
  5. Community Center: The larger building at the end of the green space will continue to serve as a community hub, providing a place for residents to connect and enjoy shared amenities.

I really dig this, Al! I'm curious how you think principles like desire paths fit into this? (ie look for where folks have worn their own trail through the landscape/built environment, then structure accordingly.)
