Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, we've leaned on digital solutions to partner with our clients in effective ways that help us deliver the best outcomes, especially when we're thousands of miles apart.

Bacancy being Ahmedabad’s 1st IT organization to launch the ‘Work from Anywhere’ initiative in 2020, we take pride in saying that Bacancy continues to stay a remote-first company as in 2022. 

What does ‘Work From Anywhere’ mean at Bacancy?

Our remote-first approach is centric on providing our people with ownership and flexibility, creating opportunities for collaboration, engagement and adopting new ways of working:

  • Flexibility: With our remote-first approach, Bacancyers have the flexibility to work remotely and can also work from the Bacancy office.
  • Connection: Nurturing stronger connections with one another, the teams at Bacancy meet in person via purposeful gatherings from time to time, like monthly, quarterly, and annual events. We host events and cater to experiences that bring Bacancyers together who are working from locations across PAN India and continue to reimagine and re-design our physical workplaces to support community building and peer-to-peer interactions.
  • Redesigning New Working Ways: We are redesigning our working methods as a remote-first company to operate more effectively and equally across teams, time zones, and locations. 

Bacancy’s remote-first approach will meet the evolving needs of people who want the opportunity to integrate work into their other responsibilities like parenting and hobbies.

How we arrived at the ‘Work From Anywhere’ model

We introduced the ‘Work from Anywhere’ concept post lockdown when a majority of the offices started resuming. Our goal was to support our people in more ways than one. Financial stability being one of them focused on saving the employee’s expenses involved in  FAT(Food-Transportation-Accommodation).

Luckily, we were already adept in virtual collaboration and problem-solving as a customer-focused and people-centric company, so our day-to-day deliverables weren't impacted. Neither was onboarding! In fact, 68% of our employee base was hired during this time, many having never set their foot at the Bacancy office or met another Bacancyer face-to-face.

Our Listening-Oriented Approach

According to research recently published by ADP, nearly two-thirds of the global workforce have looked or would consider looking for a new job if their employers demanded they return to the office full-time.

To dig in for the best approach, we decided to ask Bacancyers their work setup preference as a part of a holistic experience at Bacancy. Our bi-annual ‘people survey allowed us to gauge the sentiments on how Bacancyers work, how productive they felt, and if working from home impacted their connections with peers.

The survey revealed that Bacancyers (93.5%) feel connected to their team and peers, and feel attached to the workplace (97.6%) regardless of their location. More importantly, nearly (99%) of our people love Bacancy culture, despite working remotely from the location of their preference, PAN India. The majority of the Bacancyers (87.4%) feel they have enough opportunities for professional growth with this organization. This is a considerable achievement for us since we want everyone to have long and rewarding careers here.

‘Work from Anywhere’ has been working fine for us

The evolution of Bacancy’s remote-first - ‘Work From Anywhere’ approach has helped us serve our people better, attract, engage, nurture the best talent and ensure fair experiences for our people, driving a healthy, high-performance culture.

Specifically, our remote-first approach allows us to:

  • Seek out talent from regions, PAN India, which were previously overlooked due to location constraints.
  • Use our physical spaces for engaging and purposeful gatherings like month-end events, team collaborations, community building, and social events.
  • Provide ample time for Bacancyers to refresh and recharge to always be their best selves at work.
  • Provide all Bacancyers with uniform access to collaboration, career development, and growth opportunities.

And as the future of work will increasingly take place in a digital landscape, Bacancy is committed to making the investments needed to optimize the experience at the workplace.
