Biden administration to launch workforce hubs in Arizona, Georgia, Ohio, Maryland, Pennsylvania: Last week, the Biden administration announced it’s launching workforce hubs in an effort to meet the demands for labor driven by infrastructure and manufacturing investments. The goal of these hubs is to “ensure a diverse and skilled workforce,” which will be achieved through apprenticeship programs and state-wide partnerships. The first hubs will launch this summer in Phoenix, Ariz.; Columbus, Ohio; Baltimore, Md.; Augusta, Ga. and Pittsburgh, Pa. (The Hill)

These Detroit mobility startups just received $200K in grants to support high-tech projects: Earlier this month, it was announced that the Michigan Mobility Funding Platform has awarded $520,000 in grants to four high-tech mobility startups. Two of these four are located in Detroit, and the grants will help fund the real-world testing and deployment of mobility projects in the city and across the state. (Model D)

The ResiliENT Project is looking for BIPOC founders to participate in a study: Our friends? at Wayne State University is conducting a 4-week survey project to document the experiences of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) small business owners and to learn about responses to this ongoing crisis, helpful programs or social assistance, and challenges or problems encountered.
