MD Words: Welcome to the February edition of our Red company newsletter! We have started the year with a bang and have seen a noticeable increase in Marine clients looking for our support in filling niche shore-based roles across the UK and beyond. January was also busy from an events and news perspective with a particular highlight for me personally being my appointment as a Director of the amazing Scottish Shipowners' Benevolent Association charity (see further details below). In addition, I attended the Scottish Maritime Cluster AGM and we announced our commitment to the Scottish Maritime Diversity Pledge. We also celebrated Leigh’s 6-year milestone with the business and continued our focus on charity by running and walking miles and miles in January for #DoddieAid. I hope you enjoy!

Honoured to Join the SSBA as a Non-Executive Director: I’m incredibly proud to have been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Scottish Shipowners' Benevolent Association. For over 125 years, the SSBA has provided vital support to seafarers, their families, and dependents in times of need—offering financial assistance, guidance, and a strong sense of community to those who have dedicated their lives to the maritime industry.

With exciting plans ahead, I’m looking forward to working alongside a fantastic team to build on this legacy and help the charity continue its important work.

Scottish Maritime Cluster AGM: Our MD, Matt, attended the Scottish Maritime Cluster AGM in Edinburgh last week which was a great opportunity to connect with other members and also reflect on the Cluster’s many achievements over 2024 and also discuss future plans and events, with a significant focus on the upcoming “Outreach Programme”. Special thanks to Addleshaw Goddard for hosting in their offices and also Cork and Cask for the lovely cheese and wine tasting! Watch this space for further developments!

Doddie Aid: For a number of years now, every January, the Red Team have taken part in #DoddieAid. "Doddie Aid is a virtual mass-participation exercise event which raises funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, who invest in research to find meaningful treatments for motor neuron disease (MND) and, one day, a cure."?

This year none of us have been very good at remembering to take photos along the way but we have logged our process. As a team we have managed to cover 260 miles over the course of the month. ??

And finally...January marked Leigh's 6 year work anniversary with us. 6 years!! We can't believe how quickly time has flown by. Leigh is an integral part of our business and we would like to thank her for all her hard work and dedication over the years. And we are looking forward to seeing what the next 6 years brings.
