Red All About It!

MD Words: January was another very busy month for us here at Red as we started the new year with gusto! We’ve been out visiting our lovely clients, attending industry events, and continuing to execute our strategic plan, culminating in the launch of our new brand-new website, showcasing our laser-focus on shore-based Maritime recruitment. If you get a chance to take a look, let us know your thoughts. In addition, we also set up a new separate website and sister brand for "Red Talent", which will be focused on bringing you the most sought-after talent in Finance and Technology. We have also been busy running and walking many miles in typical Scottish weather to raise funds for “Doddie Aid”, a virtual mass-participation exercise event organised by the “My Name’5 Doddie” Foundation which invests in research to find meaningful treatments for motor neuron disease (MND). Hope you enjoy!

New website:you may have noticed our annoucement earlier this week regarding our brand new website! We have been working on this in the background for a number of months now and are extremely excited to be able to share it with you all. The new website show our focus on recruitment for shore-based maritime roles. And our revamped platform is expertly designed for both candidates and clients. Take a look at the new site and let us know your feedback! www.redconsult.co.uk

Exploring Scotland's Offshore Wind Revolution: A Glimpse into the Future of Energy: This month, thanks to Scottish Renewables, Paula had the privilege of attending the 2024 Offshore Wind Conference in Glasgow, where she had the pleasure of chatting with industry leaders about the transformative developments unfolding across Scotland's ports. As the offshore wind market continues to surge, Scotland is harnessing its maritime potential to not only bolster its renewable energy infrastructure but also to pave the way for significant job creation.

There was such an amazing buzz at the conference and it became evident that Scotland's ports are undergoing a remarkable expansion, poised to play a pivotal role in supporting the booming offshore wind industry. With its strategic coastal location and robust infrastructure, Scotland is primed to become a global leader in renewable energy production.

One of the key takeaways from the conference for Paula, was the emphasis on the scale of investment pouring into Scotland's ports. From upgrades to new facilities, the momentum is palpable as these ports gear up to accommodate the growing fleet of offshore wind farms dotting the Scottish coastline. These investments not only enhance the logistical capabilities of the ports but also foster economic growth and job opportunities across the region. This is where the Red Team are at on hand to assist the ports in finding the right talent for these roles!

The expansion of Scottish ports signifies more than just the physical infrastructure; it symbolizes a commitment to sustainability and innovation. By embracing offshore wind energy, Scotland is not only reducing its carbon footprint but also spearheading a transition towards a greener future. Perhaps most exciting is the prospect of job creation that accompanies this maritime revolution. The surge in offshore wind projects translates into a surge in demand for skilled workers across the marine sector. As Scotland positions itself at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution, it presents a wealth of employment opportunities for its workforce, driving economic prosperity and societal well-being.

Overall, our experience at this year’s Offshore Wind Conference offered a glimpse into Scotland's promising future as a renewable energy powerhouse. The expansion of Scottish ports underscores the nation's unwavering commitment to sustainable development and underscores the transformative impact of offshore wind energy. With each gust of wind that powers the turbines along its coastline, Scotland propels itself closer to a brighter, cleaner tomorrow, fueled by innovation, opportunity, and the boundless potential of its people! We are already looking forward to next years event!

And finally...Whilst the weather in Scotland was atrocious in January it didn't stop Stacey, Leigh and Matt from taking part in Doddie Aid 2024. Between them they managed to walk 156 miles - Stacey even ensured she got her miles in when on holiday in Lanzarote. (Poor Matt was having issues with the app to unable to log on our league pictured above). We were all part of the 'Glasgow Team', who in total had 2596 members. Collectively we managed to walk 23,895 miles over the course of the month. Go Team Glasgow. Even with such a high number of miles walked Glasgow placed 5th on the leaderboard!
