Recycling Makes Headlines

I am so excited to see the recycling crisis getting the attention it deserves! When Bob Oakes at WBUR covers it, that is a promising sign, but when I get asked to speak to radio, TV, and the newspaper all within two weeks, that officially makes it a hot topic!

https://www.wbur.org/news/2018/08/20/cities-cleaner-recycling (Both audio and article are worth checking out. It was so exciting to meet Bob Oakes! )

But when it happens in the same two weeks as an interview with Worcester Cable Channel 3:https://youtu.be/8nqvfiY3_ns?t=8m36s (Olivia was wonderful!)

...and an article with a Canton Citizen: https://www.thecantoncitizen.com/2018/09/01/recycling-story/  (one of the best-written recycling articles I have ever seen!)

I am glad to be helping to get the word out about the contamination problem, the state of the market, and what is coming up next. Kudos to my fellow Board members at MassRecycle who have been busy doing the same, and the DEP for their statewide approach with RecycleSmartMA.org

Oh dear Gretchen, I’ve been recycling my Market Basket plastic bags for years. :( I learned from this article that I’ve been “wishcycling”. But after bringing my bags back to market basket for three weeks in a row, I’ve switched to reusable grocery bags!! No more plastic bags. Thank you Gretchen
