Recruitment stats and facts. #1 Property Managers in Oxfordshire
If you are currently looking to recruit a Property Manager in the Oxfordshire area and are finding it slow - you may be interested to understand some recruitment stats to understand why. In my experience, roles that are not filled within a short space of time are normally not attractive in the market place.
Did you know that:
?? The average Property manager salary in Oxfordshire is £29,670. (This is 17.4% less than the average national salary for Property manager jobs)
?? The average Oxfordshire Property manager salary is 14% less than the average salary across Oxfordshire. This may explain why we see Property Managers leave agency for Property Management in different sectors
?? In Dec 2022 there are 155 Oxfordshire live Property manager jobs across all job boards 116 of these are on REED. Each job listing on average has just 1.4 applications
What does this tell us?
A little bit like listing a property on Rightmove and then sitting back and being totally reactive, job boards (like portals) have their place, but you cannot rely on a job listing alone. You will be waiting a long time to get your position filled.

So what should you do if you are looking to fill a vacancy?
In my experience as a recruiter, its my role to help clients understand what the job market is doing. This means advising on stats like this informing clients of the average salaries the role commands and how attractive it looks in the job market. If for budgeting reasons a salary cannot be increased to at least the average, how can we make the job stand out?
This of course helps make a job role desirable, but as the stats show there are a lot of vacancies, how to you have the most desirable job role and how do you attract the best talent?
Headhunting
9/10 vacancies I have filled have been though a headhunt. My little black book is 30,000 strong of industry contacts, couple that with the Rayner Personel databases and we can reach the right talent. This involves finding out why someone may be looking to move (by the way, its rarely salary that is the trigger here) and seeing what our client's have to offer that will help the candidate make the better move. Sometimes its work/life balance, commuting distance, the company management structure, career progression that are the most important though of course the salary has to stack up. This is where as a recruiter we really get to know what someone wants before we send the CV across.
Time to outsource?
Of course, the headhunting process takes time and thats why you outsourcing your recruitment will save you a great deal of time. You have a choice to either fill your vacancy via proactive headhunting and matched selection or by reacting to adverts. In my experience the better matches come from the former.
