We initiated 2023 intending to deliver more value to our existing client base and build relationships with the new ones to assist them in their digitalization journey. Looking back and reviewing our entire year, we believe that we have achieved our target quite well, given that we have worked on multiple new projects and hired twenty new employees. We have hired software developers, product owners, data engineers, a delivery lead, and an IT support specialist. We also hired an administrative assistant and sales lead. We feel very lucky to have onboarded such smart people in our company and we would like to congratulate and welcome them once again. Here’s a short message from our CEO Rami Rantala:

"Last year, we recruited several supportive roles to build an even stronger organization that scales. In addition, we expanded our recruitment to Poland, where we are opening an office in 2024. When we recruit, we always prioritize culture fit more than anything, and we have been successful in finding people who share our values. At the same time, our diversity has improved." - Rami Rantala.

Our employees are our main strength and it is our utmost duty to prioritize their concerns and contribute to their professional as well as personal growth. We conducted one-on-one meetings with all the employees to assess their current state of well-being, whether they were overworked and over-stressed, and their sense of belongingness at WeAre. These one-on-one meeting sessions have been overwhelmingly positive, and any concerns from the employees were taken care of as soon as possible. Our recent employee well-being is +80/100 and our latest eNPS score is +70/100.

Take a look at what our software developer, Duc Ngo, has to say about working at WeAre and his experience in 2023.

Duc Ngo, Software Developer
“2023 has been an incredible year for me as a developer at WeAre. We moved into a new office and had the best Christmas party there. I've also become much more involved in projects, particularly in cloud computing. I've experienced significant growth and improvement this year. The well-being meeting is a unique aspect of this company; leaders sit down and inquire about your life. It creates a sense of care that removes any fear of speaking up or asking questions within the organization.” - Duc Ngo.

We have established a new internal communication channel to enable colleagues to express their appreciation for one another. This idea was brought to us by our esteemed employee, Umar. Colleagues can now give kudos or show appreciation in public, and we also recognize outstanding work during our monthly meetings. We believe this initiative has positively impacted morale and strengthened relationships amongst our employees.

In 2023, we expanded our developer relations to Poland and we onboarded five new engineers. We warmly welcome everyone and it has been pleasant to work with them.

Due to our openings and hiring year-round, we saw an all-time high activity on our career site with nearly 9,000 site visits. The numbers might seem small but it is quite an achievement for us compared to last year and we are also proud that applicants enjoyed interviewing with us and we tried to make the application process as easy and as systematic as possible. You can learn more about our recruitment process from here.

Our company is growing, and we have made a conscious effort to create a workplace that fosters a healthy work environment. By "healthy environment", we mean a workplace where there is no micro-management, mutual respect for each other, a flat organization policy, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. We also prioritize employee well-being and ensure that everyone's voices are heard.

Vision for 2024:

Our primary objective in 2024 is to enhance our company's technical expertise in the fields of software development, data engineering, and AI. Furthermore, given the recent advancements in AI technology, we plan to build an AI team to provide AI services to our existing clients. In addition to this, WeAre will continue to invest in employee growth and foster a healthy work environment that prioritizes diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI). WeAre is actively seeking new talent to join our team. If you find WeAre to be an interesting company and if you would like to be part of it, please leave us your open application here.
