Recruitment has been changing
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Happy New Decade.
Well, Talent acquisition is moving away from the paper of resumes, phone screenings towards an emphasis on Talent assessments and video interviews. From reactive hiring to proactive recruitment, From hiring local talent or talent abroad and from making random choices to focused selection.
Let's start with a quick recap of what we saw in 2019.
By picking up a few of Recruitment Trends in 2019, some of them may have heard of already, but I think you will find at least a few you've missed and really should be aware of for facing the Recruitment trends that still will going in 2020.
- Collaborative Hiring: Referrals & Internal Mobility (Did you know that referrals are one of the best sources of hires? 70% of companies offer Referral Program for successful hires. How is your company supporting employee referrals?)
- Enhanced Recruitment Marketing
- Attracting talent with transferable skills outside your Industry (With certain industries already struggling to find skilled people and a growing number of baby boomers retiring, recruiters have no choice but to look beyond the ‘borders’ of their industry to find people. Did you know? the boolean search very helpful)
- AI ---> Yes, There it is again, Artificial Intelligence! (However, applications of AI in Recruitment will become even more widespread in 2020)
- Flexible Workforce (For most organizations, their workforce already consists of a combination of full-timers, contractors, freelancers and everything in-between)
- Diversity hiring (Like AI, diversity hiring is one of those themes that remain relevant in 2020)
- Building and sharing your mission (Today’s workforce is on the lookout for mission-driven employers. People want more than just a paycheck from the organization they work for, they want to have a sense of purpose in their job, They want moreee..........)
- Hiring Gen Z.....? (Why not?? They’ve been entering the global workforce for a while now, although so far, mainly in internship and entry-level positions. Slowly but surely tho')
- Data Security
- Hiring people with the Future-Proof Skills (This is it! As developments in technology are changing many industries rapidly, the demand for people with transferable, future-proof (as much as possible) and soft skills will rise, Of course...)
(Critical thinking, creativity and coordinating with others are gaining importance as the top skills of the future)
11. A shift from job description-based hiring to project-based hiring (This has, among other things, the advantage of gathering those people who are the best in their field for each project. Instead of buying labor, organizations will actually be buying - and thus recruiting for - results)
Wrapping UP!
Voila! These are our selection of recruitment trends in 2019 and somehow a few of them still running in 2020. Of course, everyone has a (slightly) different opinion when it comes to ‘what’s hot and what’s not’
We believe you have your own Top-Notch Recruitment Landscape in mind that you might want to keep a close eye on this year.
Anyway, Happy Hiring and Welcome 2020!
