Client: Logistics (National Group)

Challenge:

The client's Talent Acquisition (TA) team were overwhelmed with numerous job openings across the country, making it challenging to allocate sufficient time and resources to fill positions with short deadlines. Their three logistics roles were urgent to fill due to immediate operational needs. Adding to the challenge, the TA team was short-staffed, with two team members out on sick leave. The client sought our assistance in expediting the recruitment process and providing back-end support to alleviate the burden on their TA team.

Research:

Our research shed light on the common hurdles faced by our target job seekers:

  • Most roles were casual, leading to unpredictable schedules and work hours.
  • Workers often had to deal with sudden changes in start and finish times, making it tough to plan ahead.
  • Many relied on overtime for income, adding uncertainty to their pay.
  • Job security was a major concern due to the casual nature of employment in the industry.

Solution:

After being approached to manage an advertising campaign, we considered the limitations of a traditional job board ad. Leveraging insights from our research, we undertook a comprehensive revamp of the advertising campaign. This encompassed the implementation of a targeted visual campaign on Facebook, strategically directed at community groups to enhance visibility and engagement.

Central to our approach was the emphasis on the benefits of permanent employment, job security, and predictable earnings, meticulously integrated into all our advertising materials. This strategic focus aimed to align the campaign with the specific needs and preferences of potential candidates, ultimately positioning the client as an attractive employer offering stability and growth opportunities in a challenging industry.

Results:

  • Total applications received: 63
  • Candidates selected for review: 28
  • Candidates shortlisted: 18
  • Client interviews: 5
  • Successful placements: 3

Timeline:

Time to hire for the position: 25 days end to end (multiple positions)

Outcome:

When the client approached us to manage their advertising campaign, we quickly got to work and delivered beyond their expectations. Initially, the brief was for one hire however the quality of applicants allowed them to successfully hire three people in a short span of time. Our efficient approach not only saved time but also streamlined the process of providing candidate information to the line managers which in turn led to them being able to interview face-to-face quickly.
