Here are our 5 top tips to ensure your recruitment process goes with a bang on this November 5th!

  1. IDENTIFY THE NEED: Do you actually need to recruit? Can the work be shared out between existing team members? Can you promote internally?

Don’t waste time starting the recruitment process if you really don’t need to!

  1. CONSIDER YOUR ADVERTISING OPTIONS: What platforms will work best for your business? Will your advert reach the correct audience? Do you know the legal requirements for advertising a role?

Think about demographics, skill shortages, specialist recruiters?

  1. ENGAGE THROUGHOUT: Keep in touch every step of the way from receiving their CV right through to the onboarding stage.

Give clear dates / times for each step of the process and stick to them! Manage expectations from the off-set. PLEASE don’t take ages in between the stages. You will LOSE candidates.

Don’t waste your time by taking your time!


  1. ONBOARD PREPARATION: Make it HR Official - offer letter / welcome pack. Prepare all new starter paperwork ready for their 1st day. Have their desk ready and waiting for them - all clean and shiny! Make sure IT is ordered and set up ready for them to start. Create all log-ins and new accounts. Take them for a tour of their new office. Assign a mentor / peer buddy. Send a new employee announcement. Set 30/60/90 day reviews and STICK to them. Let them know who they can turn to at any time!
  2. PAY ISN’T EVERYTHING: Consider other benefits and incentives for your team to strengthen your retention. Extra holidays / health insurance / life insurance / profit share / annual bonus / pension schemes / hybrid option / paid optional volunteering / personal and professional development opportunities / support and team based environments. ? ?
