Recruiting high quality talent for our new residential children’s homes

We know that strong leadership and a stable workforce are fundamental for children’s homes to thrive, and we are committed to recruiting, developing, and retaining leaders and staff to deliver excellent therapeutic care across our children’s residential homes.

Our current focus at Channels & Choices is to recruit for the team who will work in our new children’s home that we hope to open later this year, and when it comes to staffing, we need to ensure we do three things well: recruit great people, train them well and have good staff retention. Of course, it is essential that we recruit great leaders and managers, but that will only translate into a successful home if we also consider the balance of skills and strengths within the wider team.?We always consider the wider team when recruiting, identifying where there might be gaps that we want to fill in terms of experience or knowledge.

In order to recruit great people, we approach our recruitment with an open mind, hiring for potential, and encourage applications from individuals who feel that they are able to fulfil the role. Being able to build relationships with young people is at the core of any role in a children’s home and we are looking for people who can quickly establish trusting, empowering relationships with young people and provide practical day-to-day care for them in a therapeutic and supportive way.

We value people from all backgrounds, and we seek to attract a diverse workforce, where we will ensure each person has the opportunity to learn and develop. Our recruitment process is consistent and fair, and we maintain our commitment to safer recruitment.

Channels & Choices offer a seamless transition from therapeutic residential care to therapeutic fostering using our own in-house services (The Stepping Stone Program.) We believe that all children growing up in residential care should have the opportunity to achieve great things and lead fulfilling lives, therefore we are passionate about recruiting the right people to work with our amazing children and young people.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Registered Manager for our two new therapeutic children's homes in Dover and Deal in Kent. The Registered Manager will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, promoting a positive culture, and providing strong leadership to our residential team.
